Due to recovering from a broken neck, back and crushed skull, I had to live in low-income studio apartments in a converted 400 room hotel building that became studio apartments. Every other "room" as they were called (not even "studios" or "apartments") was some sketchy crook. Be they drug users stealing to get their fix, or drug dealers supplying them with their chemical of choice, there were a lot of drug dealers in that building. They knew I was straight as could be AND that I kept to myself. What did those drug dealers do to me in the three years I was there? They held the elevator door for me as I hobbled with my walker toward the slow elevator, they helped me with my groceries, and acted like normal neighbors.
