Seriously. Ever since they started reaching out through these methods to “interact with the community better”, it has done nothing but turned into cesspits overran by these types on power trips needing to ensure things only go their way. They’ve infected every community due to how open they are/were. For the most part, forums were decent (except for the Bethesda ones - those were infected with “Community Managers” who would remove and ban users for the smallest of things). The only downside was having numerous accounts for different studios for games you enjoyed, BUT it kept these types at bay because they won’t go out of their way to create an account for every studio to infect with their ideologies (and those that did were just automatically seen as nolifers with a serious mental health issue to dedicate that much time and energy for all those forums).

Similar happened to me. I reported a dude who kept using slurs in the same thread (didn't realize, just scrolled down the thread and reported people using slurs), got banned for "Harassment". Fun fact, the dude also got banned. Apparently, properly reporting slurs isn't ok if it happens to be the same dude replying to the top 10 comments with the slurs. Lmao.

You are correct and it is very easy to understand why : - we know for a fact that 92 of the top 500 subs are controlled by 5 people. It is reasonable to infer that maybe 100 people control 90 % of the platform. - dead internet theory. At least 60 % of what you read on reddit are bots. - censorship. Since all the somewhat right-leaning subs keep getting banned/taken over by leftists, then all the subs wind up being the exact same echo chamber. Which is ironic because it defeats the entire purpose of SUBREDDITS.

According to Google; Reddit does not have the legal right to run a subreddit dedicated to your property without your consent or control; this would likely be considered a violation of your intellectual property rights, particularly if the content involves images or information that could be considered unique to your property. With that in mind I feel that the CEO and his company are within their legal right to demand Reddit either take down the reddit group or hand over control of the group to the company.

They don’t need a legal right to do that. Clearly, you are not very knowledgeable about the law. It doesn’t affect CI’s intellectual property rights whatsoever. It is nothing more than a free speech platform to publish whatever they want, even though it’s not internally free speech for who they allow to post there. They are LEGALLY allowed to choose what to publish whatever they want about the game. This problem will continue without recourse until the overall issue gets addressed that these privately owned platforms are the public square *(especially* since we have proof that the gov has been heavily involved with them by telling them what to do/what to censor) - they should LEGALLY be forced to be free speech FOR ALL.

On an unrelated note, I just got to 27:13 in the video, and Zach is also wrong. Those ideas were wildly popular at the time there, and they weren’t beaten fair and square at all. There was massive censorship and propaganda used AFTER THE NATION’S DEFEAT to beat the ideas that Zach was discussing here. And it took an entire world against 3 nations to defeat the ideas on the battlefield, which is also not a fair battle either. Why was it so outmatched? Because the people who owned the most amount of money and people had the upper hand. That is really simple to understand. It’s also the reason why “Citizens United” is so unpopular, and Americans have been wanting to overturn it for decades. Whoever has the most money should never get to decide what idea is best, but that’s exactly what has been going on.

r/gamingcirclejerk used to be a sub about making fun of the more ridiculous aspects of gaming culture. It was completely taken over by activists and turned into a gamer hate sub. r/gamingmemes used to be about gaming memes, but the gamers there started expressing their frustration with all the gamer hate going on. Reddit had the moderator of r/gamingmemes removed and installed a r/gamingcirclejerk moderator who immediately changed the banner to a rainbow flag and banned anyone who spoke out against it. r/gamingmemes made a second sub called r/realgamingmemes, but it too was immediately shut down. Reddit has always had it's problems, but it's become an absolute joke as of late.

It's as simple as sending Reddit a cease and desist for trademark infringement through the form available on their support portal. Reddit usually demotes all the infringing mods in less than 24h.

One of my hobbies is military scale modeling, that means making little tanks, and airplanes out of plastic kits. The largest subreddit for this hobby regularly bans people for posting pictures of their models of modern Russian tanks, or WW2 German vehicles, (Probably the most popular subjects people model). They will call you a fascist or nazi for making a historically accurate model of an inanimate object. I recall a mod going on a very lengthy unhinged rant about why he banned a guy for being a fascist, because he posted a picture of his model of a T-72 tank in Russian markings as seen in the Ukrainian/Russian war.

I have some scripts I wrote to remove every political post from reddit whenever I load the page or any subreddit which contains >20% of posts in past 90 days related to politics, and they still manage to slip politics into even the most niche cat subreddits you can possibly imagine. And most other users are like "Wow that's really interesting!" and I'm like "No that's a bot that keyworded into the wrong fkn conversation." and then it never replies and you check the account and it's already made 12 other comments in the 3 minutes since in various subs about nothing that the topics are about but yet somehow get TONS of upvotes. That's when I realized they use bot armies to inflate their nonsense and most of the users going "Wow, so interesting!" are the other bots. Or just dummies. I can't tell. I see it so often I'm just like "The others are noticing this too, right???"
