I've upgraded the Miner set twice and I think it now leaves little glowing spots while you are running around, which means if you are exploring somewhere without a lightroot lit up, you can look back and see the path you took. Which is a little helpful.

Idk, it feels kinda pointless to me. If you look closely it resembles a lot like the wizrobe’s walking steps when it phases out and moves, except it’s less frequent vfx. The illumination effect could also be achieved by attaching a luminous talus heart to your weapon or shield, or a star fragment, both of which you would have come across quite a few times by the time you going across the depths like that, unless you actively avoiding both.

I'd suggest getting the Froggy Set *before* the climbing set and upgrading it to level 2 - it goes from "slip resistant" to "slip _proof_ " and makes getting the Climber's Bandanna much easier. Also, the (unmentioned) Glide Set's two-star bonus is "Impact Proof" which isn't...really...necessary, but in a game that takes place in the sky as much as this one does where stamina/flight/being airborne are all concerns... I mean, it's also fun to base jump, j/s

The Depths Set is also kinda mandatory in my opinion. Once you get material you can just make glow elixirs infinitely. Depths set gives you rechargeable extra hearts that absorb gloom, which makes it insanely useful in the depths. Also looks drippy AF

@@thunderborn3231 If you constantly jump while climbing, you won't notice the buff, because you slip afterward every time. You need to use the strat that Cotton talks about, except add four "climbs" for each tier of slip resistance you have.

Froggy armor level 2,mythic armor,fierce deity armor, armor and glide armor level 2 are the five most useful armors in my opinion they all look great and have incredible buffs that push certain parts of the game

I seem to remember something about getting the same effect of the full Mining set using just your shield and some glowing jewel that spawns at night in the overworld. Just fusing the jewel (that i cant remember the name of) with your sheild will iluminate the about the same amout of area around you as the Mining set, so you can move about as freely as you can in The Depths as possible and wear whatever armor set you want, but the jewel spawning itself is rather RNG based, so its probaby better to got get the Mining set if your luck aint good -Edit: Looked it up, the item is a Star Fragment. Again, from what I understand, they spawn at night and can be seen falling from the sky, but when it happens and where they end up is pure rng :/

Yeah star fragments tend to fall around night time up until 5am in game time if you don't get to it in time it despawns also I have had ij numerous occasion had one falling right next to me if I'm flying around through the sky at night sometimes this will cause 2 of these lovely things to spawn in one for the ground and the other for the sky you as i have experienced this more than twice also you will hear a shimmering glittering effect if one falls next to you in the sky

One thing I’ve noticed is that the coordinates don’t change based on the cursor’s position. It only changes if link moves. Minor gripe, but it’s an annoying oversight

For a better version of the phantom set you have the obvious choice of the barbarian set, for better drip there is also a quest for the fierce deity set including the sword. Barbarian and fierce deity set both give you atk up and can be upgraded so pretty much the superior choice and of course you can get both early.

2:27 You don‘t need the spring. Near the spot were the hole is are some parts lying around (in front of a rockpillar) Also a rocket. Fuse the rocket with your shield, then use your shield (hold the button) under the hole and you get fired up. So you don‘t waste any of your own capsules

I use the glider set or the stealth set with majoras mask. Monster spot you not so mutch anymore what is nice with my silent bow sniper playstile and the mask makes human like monsters friendly. I can walk into a monster camp, they come all to me and surround me and then I can freeze them all at once to take them out.

I have a theory that I've never seen anyone test, but if the damage absorption from the mystic armor pieces applies after regular armor reduction- You could potentially combine the mystic trousers (3 armor, 21 bubbul gems to get it), with the maxed out Soldiers helm (28 armor), and the maxed champion's leathers (32 armor), and a full potency defense up food/elixir (24 armor), for a Frankenstein's armor that could potentially absorb 24 and 3/4 hearts worth of damage for the price of 120 rupees. Which if that's possible, you basically become immortal to the vast majority of enemies, since most aren't walking around wiping out 25 hearts at one time, even silver lynels don't do that much damage. Given that 1/4 a heart is equal to 1 HP for Link, if you could bypass the 1/4 heart you take from having very high armor, you could basically ignore any enemy that doesn't do more than 99 (24 and 3/4 heart equivalent) damage to you.

You don't need a spring for the second piece of phantom set. There are 2 rockets placed up against the rock. Literally set up to inspire shield boosting.

The ancient hero set is a must get also. It is a pain to level it up to level 4 but once it is fully maxed out the defense on this armor is insane. with 84 defense fully maxed out you barely take any damage from all of the toughest enemies like Lynels and gleeox. Definitely a must have!

Considering that you have to finish all shrines AND get that thing to level 4, I don’t think it’s worth it. I’d rather go Diamond circlet, champions leather, and your choice of zonite greaves, soldiers greaves, or wild greaves. That gets you 88 defense and level 1 offense.

Ah! Thank you for explaining the further mechanics of the Mystic Armor! I actually acquired the full set recently and was eager to try it out. When I encountered an enemy who only inflicted three quarters of damage onto Link, I lost only thirty rupees. Curiously, after adjusting my armor setup by replacing two pieces of the armor with armor that reduces a lot of damage, I only lost a quarter of a heart (or ten rupees) instead. From what I can see, I would benefit if I were to mix and match the armors parts as I see fit. Also, it's for the best to only have about two pieces of the Mystic Armor on at most. Still, it's no big deal to wear the full outfit, and exploring caves is fun! By the way, from what I gathered, the Mystic Armor does not protect you from hazards.

Why is the skydiving set not on this list (the Glide set)? If you upgrade it twice, it makes you IMMUNE TO FALL DAMAGE. And considering how much more verticality is in this game compared to BOTW, that is some serious QOL right there. The Glide set replaces the Climbing Set as the armor I'm wearing all of the time while generally exploring (unless I need a specific for a specific activity). Why? Because this game has devices and Skyview towers that giveyou a boost into the sky to paraglide, bounce, or fly to where you need to go. So, you don't need to climb nearly as much compared to BOTW, unless you just feel like doing it the slow way. Besides, you cannot be 1-shooted from full health in this game. So if a 10-heart-dmg attack hits you while you have 4 hearts, you will live with a quarter heart left. That means it's actually most resource efficient to stay at low max health, since it costs you less healing items to heal to full health. Which means that all of your upgrades should go to stamina first before heart containers. Which means what climbing you still need to do can be easily handled without the Climbing set given how much stamina you should have. And upgrading the Glide set is very easy. Just a few keese and aerocuda parts. With the upgrade bonus on that set, you can hold R and crater at max speed from the highest point in the sky, through a chasm, and into the floor of the depths without taking damage.

Little thing about the one shot thing, you only WON'T get one shot IF you have your current max health, if you have anything less you can get one shot even if its just a quarter of the heart gone, but if the enemy does double your max health youll still get one shot, this was in BOTW as well

​@@jarrettgasparini5586 If you only have 4 hearts, its easy to always be at max health. I went all in on STAM from the beginning, I have never been 1-shotted from full health except from a fall. You are likely mistaken about 2x max hp hits being able to one shot you. Even assuming that you aren't wrong about that, so long as you clear every shrine you come across, you'll have gotten 3 rings of stam and gotten your next heart long before you encounter anything that can allegedly 1-shot you through your starting max health.

Don't forget that some armor sets have a set bonus which shows up after you upgrade all three pieces of a set to at least level 2. Case in point, the Miner set leaves trails which glow up the area when all the pieces are at least level 2.

I think Tears of the Kingdom is SO freeform, that it's pretty much willingly giving you everything you might need to break the game in so many different ways (including the Ascend ability, which apparently, for the longest time was literally a debug tool for the developers until they decided to just put in the game altogether!) and still have fun with it. That's an accomplishment in my book!

The actual best set in the game is the Radiant set, if u use it with a good weapon base+molduga jaw your damage will be amazing, because the set increases bone damage by x1.8 and also allow you to use the level 3 attack dish which increases damage by x1.5, the Barbarian/Fiercy/Phantom sets gives the x1.5 bonus but you cant increase it with food, the Radiant set also gives the same defense as the Barbarian and Fiercy sets, super strong, unfortunately the drip is bad

3:10 just for an experiment I decided to try and fight this dangerous enemy. And the second one that it spawns. I beat them but holly heck you were not kidding that they were tough. Honestly i had more trouble with the hands. I have a question. Do the hands always spawn that second enemy that shall not be named?

For the hands, try making a turret that shoots frost. They're very susceptible to it and will let you deal with them with ease. Actually, frost makes most enemies easy. As for your question, yes. And it always drops extremely powerful weapons, such as the (potentially) most powerful bow in the game.

Looking at the Satori set, I feel it's far more broken than meets the eye. by it's self it's not bad but why i feel it is broken is because of def lv 3 potions/food. I fought high tier bosses with this only to lose just a quarter heart, so having just one piece of this and a def lv 3 buff, you can have a very versatile set base with a god level defense for up to 30 minutes

The miner set is a joke. Brightblooms and glowfish/glowshrooms are too common to dedicate your entire armor loadout to glowing, especially not when the Depths set is so much easier to get and vastly more useful, especially when you upgrade it (which is also a vastly more enjoyable process, as it's farming frox and lynal instead of grinding for large zoanite and diamond) so it protects you from enemy gloom effects. That's not even accounting for how much easier it is to stick a brightbloom on the bottom of a control stick, build a hoverbike, and fly directly between lightroots while marking down any of the frox, lynel, and hinox you fly above. The footstep upgrade for the miner set is even more of a joke since robbie can unlock the hero path tracking and you can just look at your map to see where you've been.
