I always appreciate how careful you are and how much thought you put into treating each cows hoof issues. That care and attention is why you are the only hoof trimmer I watch. Some of the others are just brutal nearly always making something bleed (a lot), all of those trimmers get removed from my suggestion list. Common sense tells me that some bleeding is nearly always going to be present in an infected wound that hoof has to be removed from. But this is actually fairly unusual to see in your treatments. Sorry I am rambling now. Thank you for not only doing what needs to be done but for actively trying to avoid any more trauma than is necessary

I feel exactly the same way! Nate is the only KZbin trimmer I'll watch, too, because he always seems to make decisions in the cow's best interests and takes his time, rather than hurrying and butchering their poor feet. That high standard of animal welfare, along with Nate's thoughtful and educational explanations, mean I can watch knowing that "no animals were harmed in the making of this video". Sadly, I can't say the same about other trimmers on here.

"As a vet with PTSD..." Do you mean veteran, or veterinarian? In the context of watching a video of a cow being relieved of pain, either would fit your comment. So I'm just curious.

Heh. I'm glad I waited to comment until the end. I was going to ask why it seemed she couldn't bear to put weight on her other foot. I never thought of cows as fidgety, but I suppose they have their own spectrum of personalities like any other animal.

Just gonna say if you ever have the opportunity, it's one of the nicest feelings. It's not terribly expensive for the most basic services - and you get to feel like an absolute princess for an hour with someone taking care of you while you don't have to do anything except relax. And while they're not trained medical professionals, they've seen enough feet to be able to spot any problems ahead of time and recommend you go to a doctor to get it checked out (ingrown toenails and even more serious problems like melanoma.)
@thelnepoet12 жыл бұрын
@@katarh that's cool. As a diabetic though they say don't go unless you have proof they clean their tools properly or if they'll allow you to bring your own supplies.

@@thelnepoet1 Yes, I was going to mention that! One little nick and you could be in serious trouble especially if you have neuropathy….you wouldn’t feel it. There are licensed people that do pedicures as well.(Here in Canada they do) Just make sure you do your homework if you decide to get it done. With all the online reviews nowadays it makes it a lot easier. Good luck and be safe! 🙏🏼🍀👋🏼🇨🇦

@@thelnepoet1 Very true! You can ask them up front if they have an autoclave or other sanitizer - the salon I go to uses a brand new pack of the soft supplies for each customer (the loofah, the file, etc) and runs their metal tools through the same sanitizing system used at dentists.

Nate, I think if these cows could thank you, they would in a big way! You are never about just slapping a Band-Aid on their problem, but you really want to improve their quality of life. You don't want them suffering. You show compassion and care and kindness! This lady thanks you for doing that!!

I think this sums up Nate (& why I watch him, too) to a "T". Very well said! 🤩 Isn't it a nice feeling to watch him help them? My favourite bit is at the end, when the cow tries to walk away and is nervous about walking on the foot, then realises it doesn't hurt anymore and walks off happy. It's beautiful 💖 It must be the best feeling for Nate, getting to see that every day! 👍💕

i'm curious, regarding that black goo that's being let out from that defect; is that just mud and dirt that's been pushed up into that white line defect or is that secretion made from the bacteria infecting the lesion?
