I especially don't see how this would / should win anyone clout. At least with most dumb challenges you can argue there is some level of talent needed to get said challenge done ( like the crate walking would require good balance and lightweight stepping). This challenge needs neither skill nor makes a compelling argument for gun safety lol.

This makes me so mad. If he had neighbors, he could've killed someone. My mother was in an apartment complex, she sat down on her couch, the guy next door was playing with his gun, it went off, he almost killed a baby that his girlfriend was supposed to be babysitting, and the bullet went through the wall, couch, and it went into my mom through her back. It nearly missed her spine, had over 13 holes in her intestines, it was a hollow point so she had fragments throughout her body, and she died three years later due to complications, her health, stress. She was in constant pain and didn't realize she was having a heart attack because the pain she was in was more intense. Three years of that pain, PTSD, and I only got to spend three years with my mom after she had came back into my life when she abandoned my sister and I. (Had to raise my sister since I was ten.) She died and left a whole lot of hurt when I finally started to get a relationship with her. Stop playing with guns.

Man that's messed up and I am so very very sorry for your lost. People are truly stupid af man
@DementoBiohazard3 жыл бұрын
It's a rollercoaster. I mean, I didn't see my mom for a long time, we didn't have a relationship, and out of nowhere one day, someone called me and told me my mom was shot. I was mad, confused, and debating about going to see her. I didn't even know she was around, living just down the street. I'm thankful she tried to make amends and get some form of relationship, things were getting good but, life is rough and it can be cruel, especially once you finally start to feel happiness. People don't think the amount of pain they can cause by their actions (similar to that one youtuber/streamer that shot his gun while drinking and playing a game.) It makes me so mad. They can seriously hurt or kill someone. Imagine just sitting on your couch, and some asshole shoots you right through the wall. People play with these freaking guns and act like something like this would never happen, and when it does, "I didn't mean to!" Sure they did, they had full intention with playing a dangerous weapon. It's not right. 😞

I’m so sorry for your loss. That’s horrific. I hope the guy went to prison. My whole family, as well as me and my husband, all have guns. The most important rules are to never point it at anyone or play with it while it’s loaded. My husband just said “don’t point a gun at anything you don’t intend to kill”, because mistakes can happen. People are so irresponsible, and they piss me off. I’m truly so sorry this happened, and sending you lots of love and positive energy 🖤

Stories like this are so horrific that you want them to be be made up, but sadly they're all too common in America. Our obsession w/ guns leaves way too many siblings gone, children turned orphans, parents burying their own kids, etc. & now idiots dying for internet fame. I'm just waiting for some stupid edge-lord teen to get a hold of Daddy's gun to try to make a video of him about to shoot off his... but due to his lack of any gun knowledge or training, it takes this _trend_ from stupidly dangerous to deadly.

You want to know WHY things like this are surfacing on TikTok, here you go: There is a major difference between the way the Chinese runs their algorithm and the way they run our algorithms. The Chinese algorithm rewards tiktoks demonstrating INTELLIGENCE like scientific expirements, engineering, AI, etc. The Chinese run the American algorithm to reward tiktoks demonstrating IDIOCY like stupid dances, bointing at benis, facial comedy, Karens gone wild, teens wasting food, etc. So while their next gen is being flooded with content to promote curiosity into the arts and science, ours is being flooded with content that dumbs them down.

It’s not like USA government didn’t started this trend of dumbing down..Maybe it’s just dumbed down people asking dumbed down content and algorithms doing what they have to do to make more profits ? Maybe it’s not Chinese guilt Americans stay longer on app if dumbed down content is pushed on?😉

@Matthew Bennett I understand why they want more gun control, but at the end of the day it will just make it harder for law abiding citizens to get guns. It won’t stop criminals from getting them, they’re already getting them illegally. I know you said that you Americans disown this “fringe” group, but honestly from an outside view this seems the most American thing ever. Like instead of pointing at Democracy, freedom, or apple pie, as what epitomises American culture, I think this will be the world’s go to from now on. It’s got everything: guns, foolishness, celeb idolisation/clout chasing, and allows jokes about both the state of American education and the health care system. Joking aside, I can more and more understand why satirists have been saying the jobs impossible. If you saw this in any form of fiction, you’d not believe it real. Yet here we are.
@TheNinjaNiky2 жыл бұрын
But the thing is, people not in the US don't know how things work usually. The health and education isn't just a universal thing, it differs by state. My state is big on both, my husband's parents moved down south and what they were learning in high school is stuff we learned in like 5th grade lol. Different standards depending on where you go. You also can't just have guns in my state, you gotta go through a lot of things and you still can't even carry it on you. You can have it in your car, but unloaded and bullets have to be in the trunk. And if you have good insurance, healthcare isn't bad. If you don't make a lot of money, you get free healthcare by your state. The people that get fucked are the people that make decent money so they don't qualify for the free healthcare and their jobs either have shit insurance or no insurance. You'll hear all types of stories from people here, and they will always be different because our states have different laws. My state has paid paternity leave, but most don't. It really just depends on where you live. My taxes are high though, so it's always a pros and cons thing regardless
@DJCPreston2 жыл бұрын
@@TheNinjaNiky it differs by more than states; individual counties, towns, and even zip codes have varying standards. That’s not unique to the United States, but is common to every locale on earth. Hence we aggregate the data to try and give it a fair representation. If we didn’t multiple US states, and even more individual counties would need to be sitting and explaining how they’re life expectancy rates are below Mexico. (Seriously you have areas on par with the likes of the Republic of Sudan; which given that it’s one of the most impoverished nations on earth, and is famous for its piracy, has multiple bloody internal strifes of late, and you’re in theory a stable and prosperous nation at peace, should be causing national outcry. But hey, the politicians say the “squeezed middle” have it bad due to a few less trips to Aspen, so that’s where the outcry is.) I am not quite sure what the tax rate has to do with paid paternity leave though? In a healthy capitalist economy these “employee benefits” are what determines which businesses have labour, as the workers within that economy are free to go and work for a company that offers them a better deal. In many nations there is legislation that says companies have to do provide certain basics like paternity leave, but this isn’t directly funded through taxation. Most cases the company just has to pay up, if it wants to do business in that region. (Some countries like here in the U.K. do have “maternity allowance” which is paid in the cases of companies and businesses not being able to pay an individual during their leave. However this is not something a company can just choose to foist on the government, and may lead to an investigation/audit of the companies accounts.) Either way it would be a pretty broken economic system that relied on taxation of the individual to provide paternity in order to allow for a greater corporate profit margin.

@@DJCPreston no no, I wasn't saying the taxes do that lol. I was joking about high taxes and at least we get something out of it😂 my states tax rate is 7%. One of the highest in the nation. The only thing that isn't taxes is stuff like clothes and food. And when it comes go benefits all companies do have to have them, expect small ones under a certain amount of employees. But then the employees can always unionize and hold a picket line if they want in a lot of cases(not all occupations can be unionized). And union companies usually always have good pay and good benefits. My husband is in the union. And the union is supposed to stand up for the workers and all that. But anyway companies do have to have certain benefits but ours here are different. It's not just healthcare. It's healthcare, dental, and vision. And a company might not offer all three. You can get your own insurance though, you don't need to go through an employer. And then everything else would be by state laws. Paternity leave, disability, unemployment, etc would be up to the state but you might be able to still work something out with your employer. And you can actually also negotiate your hospital bills too, a lot of people don't know that. You can go to the billing department and work something out

@@DJCPreston but vision insurance isn't what you want or care about. It's the dental and health. Vision is actually very affordable here without insurance. Also having a job that offers and HSA is good too. That's a Health Savings Account, and you can use it to pay for whatever you need. Like medications or co-pays.

So if anything, it only proves that there shouldn't be such easy access to these things if these are the kind of people that are getting their hands on them. But hey, if they want to do this and they get hurt as a result, that's on them. (Please note that this doesn't apply to everyone. If you're not doing this trend and never would, for example.)

I think a lot of trolls start "trends" like this just to see who will mess up and hurt themselves. Just think about the tide pod challenge. It was specifically created to see how many people would do it and suffer. This one could easily have been created for the same reason just by taking an unloaded gun claiming it's loaded, this starting a domino effect.
