I swear there were question marks above my head when I saw her “training”, horses need positive reinforcement to be trained, you wouldn’t slap a dog across the face and expect it to sit.
@introvertedequinesamsara65933 жыл бұрын
90% of horses aren't trained threw positive reinforcement and there's a heavy stigma in the horse world that it's a cheat and doesn't work with high level displines. Horses aren't dogs and they're much more reactive and dangerous. Alot of people argue its fine to displine a horse because horses bite and kick each other a hell of alot harder over stupid things but the majority of us agree that there is a fine line between what is acceptable and what is abusive.
@talonsandtails5012 жыл бұрын
@@introvertedequinesamsara6593 absolutely yes. Good riders live by the “ask, tell and command” rule. For me at least it means to first ask with a gentle command, just squeezing the horse to ease them forward. The “tell” is to squeeze hard or give a light kick, and “command” is a gentle pop with the crop. Using a crop should always be the “command,” or the last resort, and it should never be meant to cause pain to the horse. It’s more like when your parent starts counting to three, it’s a “oh frick I better start listening.” Yes it is in fact very difficult to actually cause harm to a horse with brute force but by god you definitely shouldn’t try. And on the note, popping is never a discipline, it is like I said, the “command.” Horses don’t have a sense of good or bad. They won’t register that bad behavior gets punishment. They just think “ow I don’t like that, I don’t like this person” and it won’t make them easier. Positive reinforcement absolutely is the way to go. Just make the good behavior more desirable for them. Disobedience means your gonna keep telling them to do whatever your trying to get them to do. Good behavior means they get a break and treats. Obviously their gonna go with the good behavior

Yuzu using the term “ bucking on her terms” wasn’t a good idea nor true at all. She was just getting her horse used to the feeling of something there so if it were to happen again, it wouldn’t be as dangerous. In no way was the horse in pain so there is no problem. The horse was just made uncomfortable until the correct answer was given. Just like training a horse to move forward with leg pressure. You squeeze with your legs, which is uncomfortable to a horse, until they move forward. Just in this situation the correct answer was to not have a reaction. Simple and easy with absolutely no harm done.

If she was an actual professional trainer she would know that when horses pin there ears back they are fricken pissed off. I am an English rider with almost 7 years of experience, I started riding when I was about five and one of the first things I learned was when they pin their ears back that they don’t like something you are doing. So you have to find out what is wrong, like if you were putting too much pressure on the bit. I just wanted to make this clear. I don’t know much about western riding, but one things for sure, no matter the circumstances a horse should not be treated like that. This girl is literally judging a horse for its breed like a lot of people do to pit bulls and lots of other dogs. Edit: I know very little about horses by the way and I do not own one myself but like I can tell what the f Ava doesn’t know how to take care of a horse. I was put in a dangerous situation with a horse once because the people there thought it was ok to put me (with a broken arm in a cast), on a horse. They made me get on the horse WITHOUT A STEP even though I physically couldn’t pull myself up because one of my arms is in a fing cast. They tried to do it again WHILE THE HORSE WAS MOVING. I know it’s dangerous for both me and the horse because I don’t know how the horse is going to react to me as I struggle to pull myself up. Also I don’t know if the horse is going to get spooked because at the time i was only twelve or so and once again I didn’t know and still don’t know how the horse will react. I don’t know squat about the equipment or anything like bits and such. Also thank you guys for 1K I had no idea until just now so thank you guys.

Plus, you learn their personnality by being with them anyway. The only concern I would have about their breed is about some potential hereditary diseases. It's better to know if their parents have that kind of issues so you can at least treat them as soon as you can.

She can’t call them a “Idiot”. My parents have ran a horse rescue and training centre since they were 19. They are 90 now, and I’ve taken on with the ranch. Her flanking methods are extremely stupid, especially when the horses clearly are uncomfortable, they give you a stare, and you can see that they are uncomfortable. My horses when I tried her “great” “professional” trainer method, my horse went crazy and kicked me, that’s how I broke my ribcage. But, it doesn’t matter. The behaviour on these horses, they are saints and they can be trained quite easily, but, once you slip up on a training method, your “realationship” is broken. And since she claims to be a professional, she can ask my parents. The equine training card she tries, she honestly flops it. The ways you can flag train your horse, ( and I’ve done this recently in a training some horses ) You slowly just approach, let the horse sniff, or do some liberty, I find that the horse has more confidence. And her rope flank method, disgust me and my parents, same with the lay down liberty. Her flank. It made me sighed hard, no, no horse is ever dangerous, the rider makes the horse dangerous, which clearly shows she’s kicked the flanked area and it kicked, and if it has a bucking problem, give it to a professional TRAINER. I saw that the horse was uncomfortable, her ears was pinned, her eyes were extremely widened. I don’t feel comfortable with this girls training methods, and since she claims to be a “professional”, I think she should level up, to advanced professional. She’s a fucking junior professional. Shake my head.

I went there and I remember that they rarely used bits, mostly just halters. I think they bit trained the newer/younger horses but the more experienced ones only had halters (also smart because I remember that one of the little kids being led to their mom because they were tugging the reins way too hard)

Cow memes bits are for a better horse and a better rider. The best horse and rider combos can work in a bit or without a bridle. Finished horses you can put anything on and still have a good ride. Another thing to note, you barely have to use any pressure with a well trained horse in a bit.

What real hobble training should look like is getting them used to things touching and going around their legs slowly, then using a rope to lift each leg and give to pressure before putting actual hobbles on! Wanna know what my horse did the first time wearing hobbles, after doing all the CORRECT ground work beforehand? He stood there doing nothing (as expected) and I walked away for a minute to do something quick in his stall (he was right outside the door on gravel so if it started to go south I'd hear it long before it got bad. Had to go out of sight so he would start to think about other things than me). After a few minutes I realized it was awfully quiet and he's the kind that like a toddler if it's quiet he's up to no good 😂. I walk out the door and what do I see? Or should I say DON'T see? My damn horse 🤣 oh but don't worry, the hobbles were STILL THERE lol! In fact they were in the exact spot I left my horse! Upon further inspection once I went up to them I saw that he actually UNBUCKLED them and stepped right out! 🤣 I know for sure they were bucked when I left him cause I'm the one that buckled them lol I picked them up and rounded the corner to see him happily munching grass and he just looked up at me like "oh hey whats up? Is it dinner time already?" That was the first and only time he used them cause they aren't much use to a horse that can use the buckle lol I'm not entirely sure if that's how hobble training should go, but maybe that's exactly how it should go! Except maybe with them keeping them on 😅

All my horses are taught one legged hobble. Why, you just answered it, because if it gets a leg or hoof hung up they don't freak the fuck out. I've seen horses degloved their hoof, because they hung it up and freaked out. My stallion was one leg hobbled taught and it saved him several times. Once after I just moved and he caught his shoe on a old fence buried. He didn't freak out, but stood there, I'm not sure how long. Imagine if he'd of freaked out because he wasn't one legged hobbled. It could of been a major wreck. Another time we were riding in a field and he got tangled in some old barb wire. He automatically stopped. This allowed me to get off and untangle him. So yes I will continue to one leg hobble train my horses. It's not cruel if done correctly. And dropping a horse to the ground is not cruel, we've done it for the safety of the horse. And your big professional trainers use the rope around flanks. You start first around cinch area and work back. It's a tight and release technique. The person who did it in video wasn't doing the right way, but horse wasn't harmed. Not sure who this mouthy know it all person in the video is or even this trainer person she's bashing. But to me neither one know shit. If I met the person in video and she went off about how to train my horse, I'd tell her to STFU.

When she said “and this horse bucked me off” I felt like, who does NOT fall off?? That’s not possible to NOT fall off? It will happen and I just feel bad for her horses.. (I don’t wanna start anything, just saying what my thoughts are.. sorry if this disturbs someone) but I just feel that it’s normal for a horse to make someone fall off, and it’s not ALWAYS the horses fault? Maybe the horses has some bad days, but to tie horses up like that is NOT OKEY for me.. Feel so bad for them!

wilma åkerman I mean it’s possible to sit through a buck. I have done it. But I do agree it’s wrong to punish a horse for bucking.

yeah, once I was watching someone ride, the horse bucked 6 times in a row, they sat it like it was normal cantering -_-

It also annoyed the crap out of me that she said that Beduino bred horses aren't wired in the head properly. Half of my horses are Beduino bred and they act like any other horse, and from my experience, fast learners. My mare, for example, learned how to bow with treats and simple chest pressure in less then 2 weeks. JMO...

I own a thoroughbred and he's not as anxious as one who would be on the race track. It took me years to help calm him down and he still spooks occasionally, but he has gotten so much better.

Pygmy Puff Bedouin’s are Arabs right? Lines trace back thousands of years
@ciaradominguez14684 жыл бұрын
@@MrDarkoKos I haven't looked that far at Beduino's breeding, but he is a full thoroughbred. As I've heard from many others (Beduino breds are extremely common here), they do trace back to arabians.

If this woman really knew how to train, she'd know that you ride from the seat and the leg. Your hands should remain light and subtle at all times. If she can't stop her horse from her seat, then she can't ride.
