It's pronounced "Putt-TEE" there's a pause between "put" and "tee." Almost two separate words. If you're wondering what they are: puttees are leg wraps you use on your lower leg to prevent mud and dirt from getting in your trousers. Absolutely essential in wartime especially if you're in the trenches of ww1.
