This was made even more emotional because his friends mum called Yoongi and told him he'd been locked up... Yoongi immediately went to visit him in jail and continued until he was released... on that day, Yoongi went to pick him up and the friend hadn't learnt his lesson and asked Yoongi if he wanted to try the substance too.... Yoongi realised that he couldn't help him and had to distance himself... the friend didn't make it and this is Yoongi's way of dealing with the 'what ifs'.... Army kept it together for him this night... it would have been so difficult... for everyone there... What I love about him is that he is trusting enough to be that raw with Army... he is a special soul that is for sure....

This makes me cry because he trusts ARMY enough to be vulnerable. ARMY carried him through this. His performance of Amygdala at this concert was especially impactful. I've only seen clips of it, but even through the screen, it feels so cathartic. There are no levels to being ARMY that let you level up for each year of being a fan or some other pattern. It's a cute misunderstanding, TEEJ. Silver ARMY refers to fans with silver hair (50+), but you'll find OG (pre-debut) ARMY and Chapter 2 ARMY (who found BTS after they went on hiatus) among others. For instance, it's possible to be Chapter 2 Silver ARMY. Cultural note: Drug use in Korea can be the end of a career. Some celebrities rebuild their careers, some just don't recover from the blow to their reputation. When a person is released from prison/a detention center, often a friend or relative waits outside the gates with a chunk of raw tofu. The released person is supposed to take a big bite out of it to symbolize purification, a reset of sorts. That's what Yoongi is referencing in his lyrics.

Also thinking about how he hadn’t perform this during the normal set through the tour (I think he did this song the day before though, right?), and it’s not one of his biggest songs, yet ARMY still knows all the words to this song (all his song). Just, I think it’s only few artists where the audience know all the words of any of your songs, and they will sing it for you if you start crying. Just such a magical unique bond. I don’t know if I explained myself well. Hope you get the gist.

I guess silver, because of being grey-haired!!!!! 😅😅😂😂 After listening to his mixtapes and album, I cried for someone else, something I needed to bring my own personal pain into perspective, being in awe of his raw yet heartbreaking lyrics, and at the same time brought joy to listening to music (hip-hop rap) that I had never really enjoyed!!! But Suga's music resonated with this Silver Army in crazy unexplainable ways, that he will always have a special place in my heart!!!! I guess you know, he's my bias!!!! ❤ Borahae 💜

Man, I cried like a baby during those 3 songs (Snooze, Dear My Friend and Amygdala). The atmosphere was already thick with tension, we knew it was going to be his last time on the stage before enlisting. He kept telling us not to cry earlier, but he himself burst into tears while singing Snooze. I was watching online and we were all crying in the chat too. There were a lot of things going on in my head that day about his impending enlistment and it was cathartic for all of us to cry together like that. It's one of my strongest memories from the past 5 years, possibly even the decade. Still feels like it was just yesterday.

This is an emotional song for sure. This hits home we me because I had a friend like this too but I had to make a choice, sadly she died of an overdose. So much happening on this night, first the truth of the song where he had to make the choice to leave behind a friend who was addicted to drugs and in prison, then it is the last night of his tour performance in Seoul and it always breaks their hearts when a tour is over, and a little emotion about not performing for a while and entering into the military, and really missing his brothers of BTS in person and on the platform (he has there signature names on his acoustic guitar which he used in the concerts), Suga's voice is tired and he is exhausted emotionally, and finally the love he feels from the crowds. But most of all - he did it, he did a tour alone, it was a great feat, and some of the BTS members, family, and friends were in the audience to cheer him on. It was a heavy night.

Dear My Friend is an incredibly personal song. It references a really close friend of his when he was young who ultimately got involved in drugs and went to prison. During that time, Yoongi stuck by him and visited him regularly. But when he finally got out of prison, he had completely changed, and the implication in the lyrics of this song are that he tried to get Yoongi involved in drugs too. He had become someone Yoongi could no longer recognize. He also references this same friend in his verse in BTS's song Spring Day, when he talks about: "Would it be that you’ve changed/ or I’ve changed/ I hate even the time that is passing right now/ I guess it’s us that have changed/ I guess everyone has changed/ Yeah, I hate you/ Though you left,/ even for a day, I haven’t forgotten you/ To be honest, I miss you,/ but I’ll erase you now/ Because doing so hurts me less than resenting you" You can see his lyrics in Spring Day bear a striking resemblance to his lyrics in Dear My Friend.

He was already emotional prior to Dear My Friend, and this is the 1st time he sang it. It was not included in the original set list he added a few songs during the final 3 dates of his tour. This has been an emotional song for me ever since I heard it cause I can feel his emotion through his flows and lyrics. Having had a falling out with a very close friend whom you treat as family is really hard. Been there, that’s why I love this song so much coz it helps me release that pain that is still in my heart. You may want to watch his last Suchwita episode with his bestfriend El Capitxn, they talked about this moment and song in the episode. How they felt during those times when they wrote it, and during this concert. OMG, yes LP with their new vocalist is a very nice addition to the channel.. will be looking forward to it.. LP is my childhood and still an act that I never get tired of listening to. super excited on RM deep dives.. he is an amazing lyricist and rapper.. Yoongi is someone who doesn't seem to cry easily and even when he does, he often will try to hold it in as much as possible. You tend to know something is really serious when he openly cries in front of others. There's something about watching the stong friend break down that hurts in a unique way. It destroyed me to see him so distraught but I was so glad to see thousands of ARMY there so support him the entire time, giving him all of the love that we felt for him at home. It was the first time any of us got to see this song live and it was as emotional as we could expect, considering what it's about. It's hard not to feel for him when you see how much this situation broke his heart. The song is such a mix of anger and grief but it all stemmed from how much he clearly loved his friend.

I’m so glad that you started over with the English titles. Others already explained the main topic of this song. Personally, I can relate except it was a ‘Home’ not a Detention Centre and I wasn’t asked to try it 😢. Instead, I couldn’t get through and knew it was too far gone. 😭 Even if it isn’t the same for one, you’re right that he does write so others can interpret it their way and I can relate to that too. It’s so true he writes and creates genius work and does trust ARMY to support him! I loved your description of how he became part of the audience with his thoughts on the emotions! As Suga is my bias - prob bc I relate to him best (and OT7), whenever he cries, I cry! 😭He barely shows his emotions to this degree and you’re probably lucky that you didn’t see the video of this last D-Day Concert from the angle where he’s bawling. Even he said somewhere afterwards that he was sobbing ugly, but that’s what makes Suga/Agust-D / our Yoongi so precious! My mind just blanked on what I was thinking…like in your video! 😂… I do like Linkin Park, though I haven’t listened to them much lately so I don’t know about the news you spoke. Just got here, a bit late. Thank you for sharing your reactions as you went. I always appreciate your thoughtfulness and perspective. 💜 There's a lot to love here, of course. One of the things that gets me is that he said "I'll need your voices" and when he said it, he *absolutely* trusted that the audience would sing the song for him. He knew they would. He knew they knew it, this song that was never a huge hit, and that they'd sing when he couldn't. He knew they'd rather do that, sing for him and be present for him, than for him to cut the song. The amount of trust there is just intense. Trusting us with his emotional reactions is already huge, but there's more than one kind of vulnerability happening on that stage, you know? For a performer, telling your audience you can't perform something, and then letting them see you struggle to get the words out the whole time, that's really something. You have to love them to do that. Yoongi's lyrics have always been full of raw emotion - that's what he does as a writer, goes straight to the heart of an experience and takes you with him. But this degree of openness and vulnerability during the performance - this was special. Snooze makes me tear up too - every time. But it's a hopeful sorrow. Amygdala is a cry for help that leaves room for hope for the future. But Dear My Friend is just plain grief, and of course at the end of the tour it got wrapped up with everyone else he misses, everything else he was about to leave behind, all his regrets. On more of a fun note, I think it's on IU's episode of Suchwita that they get in a little argument about whose fans sing better... and he's SO proud of ARMY and it's so CUTE. If I remember correctly they decided they should do a joint concert and split the venue down the middle and have the two fandoms do a sing-off. 😁 I'm used to us bragging about how well they sing, but hearing him totally ready to throw down for us was freaking adorable. 💜

Well, on one hand I wish you could see him perform it normally, because it is still just as powerful and this felt like a more intimate moment for him and army, but you are one that can watch it respectfully and I appreciate that. As I am sure others mentioned... it was literally the culmination of 11 straight years of work, the end of four intense months of his first solo world tour, he was enlisting into the military at the end of it, his parents were there, his members were there, his juniors and senior artists were all there... plus army of course. The song has always been emotional, but if you watch the concert I swear I could see it start at the end of Life Goes On, then he did SNOOZE and the tears start, and then this. I mean OMG!! And then he followed this with Amygdala! 😢😭 yeah... it was a cry fest... and honestly... I imagine the emotional release he needed. These guys being able to lose it like that on stage and trust that intimate moment to all those people (and apparently the world, of course)... astronomical level trust right there. Lincoln Park, yay! And btw... its your channel so why wouldn't you put whatever you want. Always DO YOU. So excited for RM. Yoongi's music is my soul fr, but RM's versatility is off-the-charts. RM's CHANGE with Wale: All English, but RM's English back then is harder to understand in the beginning, so I always recommend this one. Same video but the subs help not miss the bars they throw out. kzbin.info/www/bejne/b2i9gniimKd1jJosi=FNgg_IhW-cIxuI5n DO YOU: Same for this... same video but Eng Subs... kzbin.info/www/bejne/qH-TkGWgrrSasMksi=VwlAZrRcpCbR3nHm AWAKENING (off his first mixtape): kzbin.info/www/bejne/f4eaZWuwaZ1sZ5Isi=-6cUajLwVvJ8nA7e Think you saw Wildlflower. I may need to check. Because if you haven't... IT IS A MUST!!! I also LOVE the juxtaposition of listening to JOKE (but you need to use this link because the subs in the original are gibberish which renders the song pointless since his point was the various skills involved. trust me on this, you don't want to watch the wrong one here! we're sensitive on this one. LOL): kzbin.info/www/bejne/hamwo3WEd7yeqa8si=tZuzc_Olow9ew9ZN then Forever Rain: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eafFaGmed72ShcUsi=jJ-wiCdhyAC2YqZQ And there's 11 years more but that's what I would recommend to start. Plus there is everything else he's ever done... just like Agust D. No skip discographies imo. Of course... listening to his RPWP album start to finish is the best way to appreciate that uniqueness. Indigo is great start to finish (and versatile) as well. That's the album just before RPWP. I think there are 5 videos to go with his new RPWP album, so if you are listening in order, just switch over to do the video when there is one. Well, that's what I would recommend because they are pretty great too. Anyway... until next time... hope life goes your way. 💜
