I am going to explain here what all the 34 memes are about: Wirtual used custom action keys to set the author time on his own tournament - Midori. The custom action key was set to 34% of a full button press in order to get the best bobsleigh turn. People are very mad because the AT was pretty hard to beat without using custom AK. He is pretty calm about it even though he lost many fans. I personally still find him entertaining and nice, I am not going to overreact over this one thing. Isn't the hate extremely dumb, though? It was just to set a threshold for a one off, nothing permanent like a WR, and no one lost anything except maybe a bit of time they could've used watching youtube videos. I'm no Trackmania player myself, but even I can tell from what I've seen & heard that people have no reason to be that mad about it when stuff like A01 Race WR exists and it's pretty much the closest to perfection there is yet people still chase after it without the torches & pitchforks. It makes no sense.

@Zeppy Against who? Didn't the prize come out of his own pockets? It would've been understandable if everyone put a grain of sand towards the big pool, but from what I understand, he put in the cash and others just had to participate, so even if the entire rest were handicapped, the worst that could've happened is that he wouldn't have lost any money and everyone else would've remained the same. (Unless everyone put a bit of money themselves, in which case you'd kind of get why ppl are mad, but if not, all the hate is uncalled for, since it would've been no different than if say Nadeo made that map exactly the same way). Not only that, there's quite a large number of stuff in the game that's leagues harder, like kacky or the trial maps ppl have only validated in segments. Do please enlighten me, because I can still not see the point in ppl being mad.

It's the damndest thing - the backlash is entirely unjustified, and the only people from whomst the backlash originates are those who take a stance out of pure ignorance and feeling of self-righteousness, whereas, simultaneously, WirtuaL is ignorant enough himself to not make the proper arguments that exist for his case that puts the entire argument to bed. By definition, custom inputs that have to be utilized manually are in no way "unfair", especially in the circumstance like this, where they can be achieved on any input method, utilizing every input methods' respective hardware drivers, and even tools explicitly allowed by Nadeo themselves such as DXtweak and DS4Windows, not to mention physical modifications. The problem purely lies in such steering being advantageous to begin win, which steams purely from the new surfaces added by Nadeo. More complex problems created by the developers require more complex solutions by players. Conversely, what would actually be unfair is for developers to start cherrypicking what efficiency of inputs they deem unfair. Is 100% unfair, but 99.9% for example not? How can they justify that the point whatever of a percentage is unfair between those two, and not between 99.9 and 99.8, for example. How is it any more unfair that manually pressing a key that gives a correct steering input is any more/less unfair than having a notch on a controller, or a line on a steering wheel, or a custom sensitivity curve on a mouse, etc. The problem is extremely multilayered, and though I'm glad Nadeo did actually comment on it, saying they'll manually admin it by what they deem feels right for their own game, what the "backlash" should be for is there being any advantage to be gained by specific steering on specific surface types to begin with, not people actually achieving it.

LMAO, bruh he acted like a kid when this first came out, he literally interviewed Carl Jr to talk about it and Carl called him a cheater and Wirtual was like “nO rULe SpEcifICaly saYs i cANt uSE CUsTom AK”. He literally has only handled this situation well because he genuinely thinks he didn’t do anything wrong even tho 95% of the pro scene said he cheated. Even Nadeo acknowledged that he cheated but they didn’t ban him bc the game would literally die without Wirtual

I don't think he handles jokes on his account very good. He mentions them again and again and tries to call out the joke makers. You can see that when someone makes a dumb comment about his driving. He is coming back again and again to this comment and gets personal himself.

I didn't think it was going to be a big deal but his reaction is super off and sketchy. why not just say something like, hey I didn't believe that it was unfair or cheating and I've learned that's not how action keys work.
