As my understanding, for champ movement skills (dashes, jumps, etc) its uses the mouse direction regardless is position. As shots skills like ez, ashe and jinx ult, he can recongnize the map as a direction to hit. At least is my comprehension.

I think he forgot that Tahm Kench can R enemies with his tongue. That is if they have two passive stacks if you Q (tongue) them to put 3 stacks on you can R on that and pull them away from their turret much easier.
