As someone who uses asl its hard to understand her signing
@caitlynlawrence8502 Жыл бұрын
@@catlover85517 really? That's unfortunate. Do you think she's maybe focusing too much on the feel instead of correct interpretation? My church friend is deaf so you could easily understand her signing singing. But I know very little ASL so I wasn't aware that this interpreter wasn't doing a great job. It just reminded me of the idea of watching someone sing and how much expression can be put into it. Speaking or hearing words or music isn't the only way to enjoy music nor is it even sometimes necessary. As my lovely friend would always demonstrate. I was not meaning offense by it.
@h00liaa Жыл бұрын
@@catlover85517to be fair hearing people can’t really understand many of the words in a concert anyway, like i have no idea what he’s saying. it’s more for the vibes u know?

@@h00liaa lol reading ASL isn’t about the vibes tho.. what you’re talking about is the music altogether that gives u the “vibes” in which u don’t rlly have to pay attention too but that isn’t an understanding of ASL as a language in which u do have to pay attention to, to understand what the interpretation is. Especially since ASL is visual so u have to focus and speaking is something you don’t have to look at. just as if ur friend next to you was speaking English incorrectly and you didn’t understand it. For those that don’t know. Interpreters get paid easily 30 an hour minimum. Some places even lay up to 60 an hour. It’s an impressive job. Free concert too I’m sure
@Nataliewms Жыл бұрын
It might be $30/hr - but there are costs we need to work out too. Like preparing on our own time. Concerts take many HOURS of prep, just for songs. Also have to work out logistics via phone tag. We don't have offices - so milage, scheduling, & travel time are issues. If we take care of the business side of it, there are less hours we can work. If we don't, we have to pay someone to do it, or join an agency. An agency takes their cut off the top & you lose autonomy.

She's the girl who signed for Rhianna at the Super Bowl and killed it! This girl and her talent is insane! Add to the fact that she is also deaf, herself and she is like mind blowing! This girl needs to be in the limelight cuz she is amazing. I don't care who is performing, I can't stop watching her! ❤

She's incredible! I hope someday I can reach her level. I'm only taking classes right now though. I haven't been licensed but maybe one day!

So proud of you for actually getting started unlike all the people who "want to learn" yet too lazy to do anything about it

This looks cool, but it is far better to learn how to sign correct, using correct posture, facial expressions, not using distracting movements or having stuff around the hands and fingers. Keep learning you will get where you want. 👍👍

I watched this on mute to get the full experience and I must say she does a really good job keeping the vibe of the song and you can tell she loves what she do. I hope she continues to be blessed to do these concerts. ❤

Sign language has a misconception that it’s only the hands, signs do use the entire body! To interpret the words deaf people don’t only look at your hands but your entire body. But she killed this.

Signing is actual pretty challenging to learn..my autistic daughter who is only 5, is non verbal mostly and prefers to sign over verbal communication and it has been tough for me to get in tune with but it is truly amazing idk ❤

Signed English is easier than ASL, as ASL has a grammar all it's own which is not like English grammar. I prefer ASL grammar.

They need more people to do that all because people who like they're artists don't know what they're saying
