I have 3 Norbar Torque wrenches to cover my old bikes to my ute, they are well made tools. Also, don't forget to wind them back to minimum setting when you put them away.

Still have my old Warren and Brown beam type torque wrench with audible and visual signal. My Dad gave it to me for my 21st birthday, still using it 50years on, it's done a lot of engines.

Have the Norbar for the 3/8 drive as the Warren and Brown for the 1/2 inch due to covid Warren and Brown was not available at the time.. Both have been used a lot and both are great.

We use Norbar at work and roadside, no problem . I have a 40 year Old Norbar, rebadged as sidchrome, still going. The Norbar also tightens left handed wheel nuts , if it says dual scale. Check what model you are buying first. It comes in handy, on my Prado V6 belt tensioner pulley bolt. Yes it’s left handed thread. 36 nm. I have ratchet adapters for my 1/4 , 3/8 ,1/2 W&B deflecting beam torque wrench. Warren and brown have micrometer torque wrench, that do left hand threads as well but not all their models. So check the model number first. $300. They are made by CDI/Snap on, but don’t get carried away, they are not made in the USA. That’s what the catalog says. Norbar 130103 is dual scale.

Warren & brown is great, no spring to unload between jobs, but heavier for same Nm range and no ratchet (W&B ratchet adapter is big and heavy)

Bought one of these the other day 3/8 with 1/2 adapter great torque wrench easy to use ratchet style , might buy another to get to lower specs 5nm etc , have used the Warren brown deflecting beam style and the older screw tyre ones which become hard to fine dial in hence the Norbar easy to use robust case well made overall spend a little more money but again you get what you pay for cheaper style ones would be good for wheel nuts etc

Is this a torque wrench able to thread left and right?
@mpfour42033 жыл бұрын
If the norbar says dual scale, then it torques up left handed bolts. Like on a 4.0 litre V6 Prado belt tensioner. 36 nm . Yes the tensioner pulley bolt is left handed thread. You can not use a Warren and brown deflecting beam torque wrench. Warren and brown micrometer torque wrench is made by CDI / Snap On . But in China

Have gone through probably 20 of them in the 8 years I have been at my work. They are in constant use though. Literally every minute of the day - 24hrs a day every working day of the year Only set to 28 but just over and over again We don't see the need to spend more on 'better' units

I had a look at one today and I instantly did not like it. The first thing was the plastic handle. Then the fact that it's not reversible as in you can't torque reverse threaded nuts/bolts. So even for the price it's a no... sorry
