@michaeljames14683 ай бұрын
I'll try to explain the UK voting system in simplistic form. Very archaic. The three nations inside the union (NI is the same but mainland parties don't stand in that province of the UK) are divided up into constituancies (roughly 650). You vote for a party not the leader of the country (party picks them internally. Each one of these constituancies you vote for a party. Now whom ever wins the most votes in that sub-section wins. So all the votes cast in that area that are not for the winning candidate are now automatically void, they don't matter. Some parties have their support in consolidated areas and others are spread around the country. Hence you get this lunacy. Liberal Democrats (like tge democrats only more left and are neither liberal nor democratic) get 3.6m votes and 70+ seats Reform 4m votes for 5 seats. In math....Reform represents 800,00 per MP LD 47,000 per MP. Democracy at it's best. Labour get a hammering in '19 Labour in '24 get the biggest majority this century (if not ever never bothered to look that up) with less votes than '19.

Labour (Keir Rodney Starmer) intend to apply a hefty VAT to private schools, this includes special educational needs schools so if you have children like we do who go to a private special needs school because have special needs, then you will be demolished by his tax on it, and will have to remove them and home school them. We have tried this week to call local schools to accept them but they have told us they don’t have the facilities to accept them, so Keir Starmer is totally ignorant of our needs as parents, he thinks he is doing it to the ‘posh’ kids but has no idea he is wrecking special needs kids chances. British general elections don't use voting machines, they are done entirely on paper ballot and counted by hand (though in some constituencies they do use machines to scan the ballots to get a quicker preliminary result before being counted by hand). Every election certain constituencies get really competitive with who can count their ballots fastest and be the first to announce their result; they even run rehearsal drills running with the ballot boxes to the counting stations and streamlining their system. This year Sunderland South was the first to call their count.
