This appears not to be a well made knife. The gaps are not acceptable at $63 (plus another $10 or $15 plus postage here in the UK). Also one of the bolsters seems to sit lower than the one opposite. I have 2 Case Medium Stockmans, one with the same problems. I ordered a Case copperhead but the dealer here in the UK would not send it. He contacted me to say that one of the blades was damaged due to being "very off centre" and rubbing badly on the liner. As long as you folk in the "good old USA" keep accepting sub standard knives then Case quality will not improve. It hurts to say this but Case shoould take a lesson from the Chinese. If they can do then so can Case. My $15 Rough Ryder is finished better than my Case Stockman. My guess is, being Zippo owned, Case are only interested in producing high numbers. Although when they are finished well they are excellent but unfortunately there is a lack of consistancy.

I only have a medium Case stockman. So far, I have been lucky and don’t have any issues with the Case knives that I have purchased. I intend on getting more next year. I love that shield. Thanks Pete!

The 3 7/8 stockman makes a really nice size for carry. I've only got one of them so far, with amber bone covers. I really like that knife. These white synthetic covers look great with that flag shield. I dig it! Cheers, buddy!

Love your reviews bro. I am from Bergen County NJ, so that makes me a Jersey guy too. I would love to see Case make a square bolstered 3 7/8” stockman in Carbon steel with bone scales! That’s my favorite size stockman. I’d buy them all up if they came out with that configuration! Any rumblings in the knife world as a possibility of that happening? Keep up the great work! I just received this Case Stockman pattern 3347 with the Delrin handles. It's a great size and unique because of the three springs, each blade with it's own dedicated spring. I thought this configuration might prevent blade rub, but no.

It has made in USA on the tang on one side like the bullet knives do. It has an R12 on the other. My question is who made it and what year it was made. Hey Pete, My hang-up is the Turkish or California clip or whatever they call the blade on the more common Case Medium Stockman. I have a bunch of them because I love Case, but I absolutely prefer a clip point blade. If there's a long pull nail nick, all the better.

I sure am glad I bought Some Case pocket knives awhile back before they got worse with quality control issues. I did send one pocket knife back due to imperfections. I was collecting some Red Stag pocketknives & some Bermuda green ones also. I have always preferred Buck pocket knives except for the Stag Bone handles on the Case knives & certain colors!.

First experience with Case I got a good deal on a 2023 mahogany bone peach seed jig trapper(CS) from shepherd hills for Christmas, fit and finish wasn’t great, spey blade was bent, one of the bottom bolsters were damaged and like you said it looks like it was sharpened off the curb. How does that pass QC from an American company and leave the factory. I don’t blame shepherd hills at all. Honestly not sure if I’ll buy case again. It’s not like a poor quality knife here and there, I’ve seen people say they’ve seen the same knife back 3 times before it was decent. Edit: I’ve sent it in for warranty and to top everything off I have to pay shipping just for them to fix their mistake.

I bought my first Case 47 stockman a few weeks ago and I'm really quite disappointed with it. The spey seems to be sprung on a very weak spring. No walk and talk and I have to actually push the blade closed otherwise it'll just hang around outside the handle. There's also a lot of blade rub, but I'm more concerned with the weak spring. I've cleaned and oiled it all a few times, but still no joy. I expected a lot better from a three spring stockman. Since you seem to have a lot of experience with the 47, is that pretty normal for the knife? Or did I just get a dud?

Mine has small weak springs also and sometimes the sheepsfoot blade wont close completely.

I got one while back said Executive stockman , I think Case must grind their blades tumble them then put n edge of which will be lil wonky cuz of the tumble .
