Hey dj, Curious if you could explain the CAA regs regarding posting to KZbin on a monetized channel? In the usa anything commercial (monetized KZbin channel) Requires part 107 which is for commercial pilots. (Which we become if we post to a monetized KZbin) How is it in the uk? Are recreational pilots allowed to post drone footage to a monetized KZbin? Currently the usa FAA drone laws for rec pilots are completely garbage and deserve to be thrown out.

The CAA control the airspace. There are no restrictions on filming. Only restrictions are if there is a reasonable expectation of privacy.

Prior to 2021 you had to have a seperate test / licence to be able to use footage for money. Since 2021 you dont. Here in the UK all you need is Operators ID and Insurance and you can make as much money as you like with a 249g drone.

Yeah the FAA rules are stupid. How do two people flying the same model of drone, flying the same flight path, require a separate license just because one posts the video for money? I can drive for recreation or deliver pizzas in my passenger size truck with my regular driver's license, only if I want to drive a larger vehicle do I need a separate license, regardless of if it's for fun or work. It should work that way with drones. Require part 107 for larger drones, but let the smaller drones fly with the TRUST certificate, regardless of the reason for the flight.

I've never worked in security or got an SIA licence, but I've been told by people who have that the week or two training doesn't even mention GDPR. However, if you are front-line security, you should definitely have at least one day of training on it or look it up because it's a part of your job.

It was Dje Media that just walked on site at Shinfield Studios, I think security thought he was doing it for the Studio. They didn't like it when they found out he had been on site. He didn't mean to get the security man in trouble but security didn't challenge his right to be there 🙄
