Closing arguments began in the trial of the killing of Ahmaud Arbery on Monday, Nov. 22, 2021.
Arbery was shot and killed on Feb. 23, 2020. Cellphone video leaked to the public shows two armed white men in a truck approaching the 25-year-old Black man as he runs down the road. One of the men, later identified as Travis McMichael, and Arbery struggle over McMichael's shotgun before Arbery is shot and collapses.
Travis McMichael, his father Gregory McMichael and William "Roddy" Bryan, who recorded the video, are all charged with murder in Arbery's death.

That neighborhood has for a very long time been plagued with these vandals roaming around stealing whatever they can get their hands on out of people's yards and cars to the point that people can't let their children play in their own yards, and they're afraid to go to their mailboxes without a firearm. Nobody just walked up and gunned him down because he was "jogging". They challenged him about what he was doing in their neighborhood. He was shot when he attacked Mr. McMichael, and tried to take his shotgun. If Arbery had succeeded in getting control of that shotgun, you can bet that Mr. McMichael would have had his head blown off. By the way, I'd love to see the neighborhood's reaction if Mr. McMichael had gone "jogging" through Arbery's neighborhood.

Just about everything she said can be applied to the Trayvon Martin case. Trying to stop someone from walking down the street, when you haven’t seen a crime committed, is false imprisonment. A felony. It’s reasonable to expect the victim to defend themselves during a felony. Can’t claim self-defense when the victim does so. “How dare this young man defend himself against my felony! 😤” Zimmerman took away Trayvon’s right to walk down the street, then shot and killed him when he tried to defend himself. A reasonable person would be in fear if they were in Trayvon’s shoes. Yet, the jury believed he didn’t have a right to be afraid or to fight back when a huge white man is following you at night, then initiates a confrontation and tries to stop you from walking home. Jury believed he didn’t have a right to fear for his life or fight back. They instead believed Zimmerman had a right to fear for his life as he was committing a felony and, therefore, he is justified in killing the victim. Then they called it stand your ground. Just despicable!

@@shawnreid6123 You should look up Narcissistic Disorder, these people have pathological need to be in control of others and think of themselves as authorities even when they aren't, ALOT of them can't keep to themselves and hate people who do. Pain in the ass to deal with, there are quite a lot of them in the US because too many people don't call them on their shit. They are usually enabled by idiots as well.
