'Shows a lack of respect:' Judge steps off bench after 'rude' line of questioning by Travis McMichae

Judge Timothy Walmsley says he had to step off the bench after 'rude' comments were made. According to the pool reporter, Jason Sheffield began filling a couple of big pages on his board and it was all very visible to the gallery.
Judge Timothy Walmsley was not pleased with this and said this type of behavior will not be tolerated. Says he had to step off the bench.
Ahmaud Arbery was shot and killed on Feb. 23, 2020.
Cellphone video leaked to the public shows two armed white men in a truck approaching the 25-year-old Black man as he runs down the road. One of the men, later identified as Travis McMichael, and Arbery struggle over McMichael's shotgun before Arbery is shot and collapses.
Travis McMichael, his father Gregory McMichael and William "Roddy" Bryan, who recorded the video, are all charged with murder in Arbery's death.

The young lady that accosted the black chiod in New York is facing 10 years because she left her phone in an UBER and accused the young man of theft, she attacked that young man she is charged with assault and battery and several others. No one is playing with you crazy people that think you can harm someone over what you THINK. TRY it and see what happens. You can end up in jail for false imprisonment, assault and battery and murder.

The question is whether or not the Mcmichaels shooter pointed his gun before Arbery tried to take it and did that nullify the lawful Citizens arrest . He doesn't have to play games at this point, all the games were played already, before the trial started in discovery when he handcuffed the defense lawyers with the things were able to talk about, example, Arbery has ran from law enforcement 10 times in the past already, he had no idea if the McMichaels were law enforcement or not, however the state got to show that law enforcement normally wears uniforms on patrol when we all know there's undercover cops everywhere... I won't go into the other things at this point because I'm sure if there's a guilty verdict it will be overturned for these and several other things

Basically since Ahmaud didn’t steal/burglarize anything, the defense attorney basically is trying to get the officer to say that he responded to the house because Ahmaud burglarized. It’s all about how they ask the questions. Instead of asking the officer if what Ahmaud did could be considered burglary; the defense attorney made a statement and tried to get the officer to agree. At the point it’s like the defense attorney is testifying and that’s a big NO.

What is important to remember here is, the defense attorney cannot answer questions that he just asks for the wittness. He had been repeatedly warned about his outrageous behavior. He cannot tell untruths such as, Mr. Aubrey was stealing because the home owner said he did not. The video of him in the home proves he did not. They cannot link this murder to another robbery had happened by unknown person and without evidence because it is not relevant. The question before the Jury is ONLY if these three defendants committed a crime not the police, not Mr. Aubrey.

No home robberies were witnessed by the McMichael's or anyone else in the area. Travis reported his gun missing (from his *car* it should've been locked away in his home) but again there were no witnesses. Just lots of assumptions because they'd seen a black guy jogging in the neighbourhood. "Them cops" can't just apprehend a person because someone believed (without evidence) that he might’ve done something illegal! Would you expect the police to run over to your home and question you? Would that be fair? And no, the defence lawyer cannot sue the judge, prosecution team or the police for defamation or anything else. That's madness! I'm confused also as to when pre-February 23, 2020 information "completeness the defence has" the police are told by the state they don't need to collect (and only casually and don't need to follow up on McMichael's three times stated claims many burglary, car break-ins, etc. are going on besides just the eight this detective has done since 2015. If the state wants that to be Gregg McMichaels "3xlies" then why are they then so interested in keeping all the rest of Gregg McMichael's information following Ahmad's shooting to the two months before they get arrested. That is keep only the facts that condemn them and throw out facts in this case that may be evidentiary support to "justified citizen's arrest" in any way! Very confusing!

“Reserved” is a better term for what you are saying. “Conservative” (and yes, I am referring to the word in an apolitical manner) means adverse to changes or innovations over tradition or status quo. That is not this judge. He was very clear about his tolerance of unorthodox methods and approaches… he has a long leash. It just goes to show you how far this attorney abused that tolerance. In the face of that disrespect, the judge regulated his own emotions very well. He is the opposite of the judge in the Rittenhouse case, where the judge (who likely favors traditional methods) was not at all reserved and regulated in his responses.

I'm an attorney. Because of my type of practice, I rarely enter a courtroom. Nonetheless, I've had enough experience to see good and bad judges. I won't comment on the bad ones -- there are plenty -- but as for the good ones, they are admirable. A good judge not only needs to have a good handle on the law (especially evidence), but s/he really needs a certain type of balanced temperament that is not easy to manage and does not simply come with intelligence. It is a different quality.

Rittenhouse's counsel generally played it very cool in the courtroom while Binger did some very questionable things that raised questions among some people about prosecutorial misconduct. If you can think of an instance where the judge showed clear bias I'd like to see it. For the most part the issue was that the law and the facts were biased against the prosecution, not the judge.

They had no right to stop or question him and this was proven in court. That is called false imprisonment.
