I'm jealous. If I was younger, I'd be out every weekend. I grew up catching trout. Good eating. I love your videos

I've had great success on stocked trout in CA's Donner Lake with Jakes spin a lure. The lure is like the very, very old super duper; heavier, brass with red spots.

PK, I have used the Acme version of that same lure for years, it does get the trout! I like your comment about finding the old gear from the 80's, I found tackle from the 50's from my Uncle, some interesting items like turnbuckle style swivels.. I will save you a few, they are unique. Also, those stock trout get real nice in the cold water, you will not know they are stock from the high quality.

I almost always get bit just as I’m pulling away from the dam and heading out. Never fails. I got there two days after they released a bunch of broods. Several months ago. Four of my five fish were brooders.

I've caught a lot of fish over the years with the Cyclone. I like it better than the Bouyant. I consider the Bouyant to be a little bit too shiny. The slightly duller color of the Cyclone seems better to me.

Great job... so fun to watch. Why don't you stop your kayak when reeling in?
@edquier402 ай бұрын
Allow me to interject, maintaining troll speed helps keep line tension, which helps prevent lost hookups. On a side note, always keep your rod tip up, and rod bend helps keep line tension.

@@edquier40 Thanks, I also didn't understand your powerbait attachment to a lure. The powerbait I use barely stays on the hook when shore fishing, how do you keep in on a fluttering lure?
@edquier402 ай бұрын
@@kentfonda8245 I do not use powerbait, but I am thinking he uses the soft bait that clings to the treble.

Many people keep moving to keep the line tight so the fish is less likely to come off. I stop my kayak when I'm sure the fish is hooked to play the fish. I don't keep stocked trout so I don't really care if they come off.

@@Gregfishes I use the same technique when trolling for salmon with barbless hooks,
