honestly, this is the kind of spin-off content i LOVE. i LOVE LOVE LOVE it. this was so beautiful, so heartwarming, so gorgeous....i cried almost from beginning to end, because I WAS THE LITTLE KID thinking nami is the coolest EVER. and the two brothers made me cry as well, though thats more bc my own older brother, whom i had a difficult relationship with too, died just over a month ago very suddenly and unexpectedly. so this hit me RIGHT in the fucking feels. and i think its just genius to show the perspective of just, normal fucking people living in this world. the kind of people you and me would be, if this was real. of course thered be fans of them! and the whole discussion about who the strongest swordsman is just felt REALLY targeted towards these types of powerscalers who for some reason find joy in hating each other over who can do sword better in a fantasy world lmao. also the sanji slander made me laugh so hard!!! i kinda wish this was 8 hours long, i mean just LOOKING at this artwork is worth it to me - ishitani really might just be a modern genius.

you know what they COULD do? among the episodes between islands/arcs they could make episodes like this. alabasta had a lot of people affected by the strawhats, Dressrosa, the "zombies" of thriller bark. I guess those wouldn't have a "crisis" like this story had - with the weapon that would dissolve a ships coating being a real threat to the strawhats.... but come on, who actually cared about that plot point watching this?

I think they chose fishman island bc Oda is specifically hinting for us to pay attention to what happens in this arc. The last time an arc got reanimated was skypiea i believe and that arc has a lot of subtle foreshadowing and hints about the future. I bet we all as a community missed something rly big in fishman island.
