It's a great little park😃 It often gets overlooked for bigger adventures, but I think people should get down there and do it. That wood shelter is where Steve Wallis did one of his stealth camps. Thanks for taking us along on this fun hike, Bruce😁

Thanks for your comment yes 👍 it’s a great place to walk. My favourite Camping with Steve was when he set up his camp in a roundabout in Langford. You have a safe weekend. Bruce

Try to come back in December Bruce, to see the Christms tree out on the spit. Some of the decorations are quite whimsical and typically Sooke.

Oooo that’s sounds like fun. You may have to remind me. B

I live in Sooke and enjoy walking the spit. This year the Xmas tree will wear a new xmas ball, in memory of my husband who passed in April. Everything these days seems to bear new significance.

If you park at the lot on Ludlow Rd, just 1 block in from Sooke Rd, there's a great stretch on The Goose , heading east toward Victoria. Either direction is nice, but I enjoy the scenery more on the trail east. There's a great mechanical crosswalk alert to cross Hwy 14, which vehicles always respect...My return distance is 4km. (No bathrooms, though.)
