A Russian grandmaster once described Tal playing badly in a game over the phone “how do you know he’s playing badly ? was the question “ Simple”, came his reply, “because he’s a piece UP!! and not as usual a piece DOWN”!

I swear, Suren always comes up with the most ridiculous ways to describe h and g pawns storming the king side. In this case, "soldiers marching forward to kill the enemy King". Jeez.
@griffy67596 жыл бұрын
Lee TF what do you mean 😂 his descriptiveness is accurate. Pawns are just like expendable low rank soldiers that aid in ending the opponent, hence killing the king.

Read the book " Attack with Tal" to know how he does that in the words of Alexander koblencs, coach of Mikhail Tal...
@seekerotruth49634 жыл бұрын
6:25 Tal could've played pawn from f6 to f7 with a check, if rook on b7 takes pawn then bishop on e6 captures on f7 with a check again. Rook on f8 is hanging in this and previous step, if it moves, g7 pawn gets promoted with a check and Black's rook will be under double attack from nascent Queen and rook on f1, mate shall follow soon.

What if black simply had responded with f6 directly after white with g6 had ga first pawn actually reach black's king's side..? I think that black that way could have brought the whole shebang to a screeching halt, and could have created a more or less impregnable ehrm, wall this way. I also think it could have given black enough extra time to become significant with his own possible attack(s) if he'd attempted any immediately after?
@shriharshithk82566 жыл бұрын
6:48... What about Qf2? There is fork on the 2 rooks and bishop. If he saved his rooks then he he capture the bishop and prevent checkmate (atleast for sometime). Later you can even try promoting the pawn on h file answer me
@harshavardhangodbole7986 жыл бұрын
Shriharshith K if he saves rooks by doubling them on g file and black captures bishop then it is checkmate... (Rg8) No need to recapture the queen

Doing rapid increases your ability to see sneaky things from your opponent. Like a checkmate in one perhaps. It helped me get 2x better, but I'm still just an amateur.
