Purdy is trying to push the ball down the field late because he doesn't have faith that the underneath and short passes gain enough yards to keep the chains moving and move down the field for TD's. He's trying to score quickly and make chunk gains. The problem is, to do that he needs time for plays to develop, often his late risks look bad, but his mind state is aggressive and correct. Once the line improves and he has protection is there it'll look championship level. Pay Brock, draft O-Line, STAY TOGETHER AS A TEAM AND FANBASE!

Hypothetically, lets just say they run back the same team at the skill positions. I would be fine with that, as long as the trenches are upgraded. I think that the last time we had a really good dominating o line, Mike singletary and mIke Nolan drafted that o line in which Harbaugh took over and rode to the Super Bowl with. We were lucky to get Big Trent Williams after Joe Staley retired, but never groomed Trent's replacement. I understand that Kyle wants to run his schemes with the zone blocking, and he needs the right lineman to do that. But sometimes the zone blocking takes too long to develop, especially when the o line isn't good. Sometimes, just running a fb blast or a dive up the middle is more than sufficient. If Kyle and John do not draft anyone in the trenches, especially on the o line side, at least push those guys to get much much stronger. Colton McKivitz at least looks like he improved, but just a little. Puni is just raw strength. Most of those guys look like they barely bench 3 plates; and I am 45, benching 305 plus. Numbers might not mean much, but even an average o lineman can look elite with some strength conditioning and adding muscle. You got to wonder if the reason some of the receivers are not getting open too has to do with them not running full sprint, because they do not believe they will get the ball from Purdy. I would probably given up on a play too, if I know that 3 out of 3 times, my qb will be running for his life, or flat on his back. That is my 2 cents.

Hit the nail on the head sir, the line is soft and lean. The line needs retooling including Trent! Trent had a rough year but he has declined so I’d move on now rather later while he has value . Take the pick or picks you get from Trent and use the top 3 picks and invest it into the offense and defense lines !

Burford was a big surprise. Kudos to him! We need players who have confidence and spirit. This is the Greenlaw, Hufanga, Warner and Kittle style of play. Purdy can have it, but I feel his biggest weakness is the power arm that all elite QB's have. The OL is the weakest link in this team, but what's crazy is that rookies play better than veterans. Trent's days are limited. We need a replacement at some point. I was watching college football and there is lots of talent there in the final playoff teams. As an edge rusher I like Sawyer from OSU. That would be a perfect teammate for Bosa. I don't know why Shanahan didn't retune this OL sooner ie Trade Deadline? He let it dwindle and did nothing! Why do you guys hate on Moody so much? I don't think he is much a problem than the OL. Wow Deebo wants to stay What a improvement!

He’s definitely smarter than Jed. 1st year head coach and President of Football Operations was negligent to say the least on Jed’s part. Asses are stubborn and we have too (two-2) many Jed and Kyle. This is a problem. Any koach that scripts the entire game plan as if he knows how things will go 3-4 days from now doesn’t understand. It’s like “horseshoes and hand granade’s” or “pissing in the wind”. “Buffoons” as evidence suggests. I feel sorry for Lynch and the players who put up with these two wannabes. You see how are they supposed to know when they already everything, their perfect, make no mistakes, accept no responsibility and are accountable to no one. It’s impossible for them to learn. No need for knowledge here, koach is almost perfect, that’s right, just see his record in the 2nd half of all games he coached with the Niners and his Super Bowl record. Simple math which proves it all begins in the trenches: When 5 O-linemen and 1 TE can't block 4 D-linemen who pressured Purdy all game long, while there's no running game after CMC, Mason and Guerendo all got injured because O-line can't run block either--that allows the opposing defense to drop back 7 defenders--double-teaming ever receiver, forcing Brock to throw into traffic and under pressure on nearly every passing down.

Retooling the Niners should begin with Shanahan. I watched part of the game v Miami and I almost put my foot through the screen. Not only does the team need to retool, it needs discipline. At key moments in the game their wide receiver couldn’t line up correctly causing not one but two penalties. The defensive tackle lines up offside etc. At what point does the entire coaching staff have to take the blame starting with Shanahan. I will repeat it again. Shanahan is not a Super Bowl winning coach. He just doesn’t come across as a firebrand. Just juxtapose him with Dan Campbell. Clearly Campbell is head and shoulders above Shanahan especially his innovations and motivation.

The only shocking thing about the 49ers is they didn't rebuilding the offence line. I predicted that they would be lucky to make the playoffs, because they didn't build that front line. I've been talking about the o line for about the same amount of time. That first Super bowl against the Chiefs was painful to watch for a lot of reasons but what felt like it was more painful was afterwards when there began to be all this controversy around Jimmy g. I kept seeing people saying you need to get rid of him because he's injury-prone. But all I could kind of think to myself is why is your quarterback getting hit this much? What's going on with the offensive line? Then when you have that last season with him and that first one where Purdy came out to play, That was three quarterbacks going down with injuries that season, they were so banged up in the playoffs and then that conference championship game was just sad. I feel like just in general nearly the whole team I guess goes from being this elite unit that is an easy playoff if not championship contender to just being the most injury riddled team in the league I don't know that I can pass this on to Kyle. The fact of the matter is that man has been with this team to appear in two Super bowls and what two conference championships in like 5 years? I don't think that happened because he's a bad coach. But this has been a bad year in a lot of places

Honestly, the O-Line didn't deserve the new Toyota's. Hopefully Brock meant them as parting gifts to Brendal, McKivitz and Banks will hopefully not be on the team next season. Kyle is an offensive coordinator posing as a head coach. His play-calling cost two teams a total of three Super Bowls, all lost in the fourth quarter because the guy can't protect a lead to save his life. As for paying everyone, they paid the wrong people -- talented players, but too many of them old and constantly injured, or young and often injured and unavailable. They let the Deebo situation fester and now they're paying for it. CMK is a real talent, but after his injury history in Carolina they were foolish to believe he could stay healthy for any extended period of time. They showed him the money and now he's on he shelf again. This offseason Purdy and Greenlaw are going to want THEIR money. The Niners can't afford an offensive line via free agency, they don 't seem to draft the position particularly well, and nobody in that organization seems able to build a line by drafting and developing from the middle rounds (aka the way the Packers have for decades). Your team is in trouble.

Hes 5’8 you’re asking the Oline to be perfect when there’s no perfect oline in football. The best lines have a QB who either gets the ball out fast or when containment breaks, that QB can move in the pocket if not scramble affectively enough to keep the chains moving. Funny thing is the 49ers known for being a running team who dominated the clock and wearing out defenses no longer exist. I missed seeing the team others feared playing blasting defenses off the line of scrimmage all night. A team that can run a sweep that looked like a red and gold wave. That type of line can give confidence from the whole team and fans. Because we know the run sets up the pass.

Brock Purdy needs to make more money but no where near Mahommes and Allen. I am sorry for that opinion. I think he is in the 40-45 million range. He does not have a strong right arm where he can zing passes into tight coverage. , not that our receivers ever get separation in man to man coverage. Even in the Kansas City game with us missing Deebo, Jennings, and Aiyuk Purdy still had a chance and and he threw interceptions late in the game. He is dangerously late in games flinging the ball. On a draft note, what was Lunch thinking drafting Piersall in the 1st round when there were better receivers on the board and offensive and defensive lineman. Piersall was projected to be a 5th round pick at best. Lynch is terrible earlier in the draft.
