❤ great review on the rolls! I too have this gr8 phono preamp and in 73 years of listening to all kinds of equipment my feeling is that it is the absolute best buy out there! It brings out everything and with good interconnects it can bring a somewhat dull sounding cartridge out of the doldrums. There is no hiding of subtlety and nuances with this vp29 as it is the red Wonder for sure!❤

Just got one of these to replace a fosi x4 that was not working from the start. Works like a charm and I had no hum or anything when I hooked it up. Great preamp. Might try their vp130 tube version next.

...and make sure you check that L/R channels are the same in the sound demos - they are reversed in these clips

I can hear the difference through my phone and yes the rolls is better. Nice job. The rolls bellari eq is great too.

I've tried the other budget preamps that audiophiles rave about (art dj pre II and ifi audio zen) but they sounded like they were putting the records through a digital filter.....not very appealing to me.....the rolls is super clean and natural sounding. I've had it for a couple years now with a couple edifier speakers and a fluance table and I doubt you could find a better sounding setup for the price.

my tt (sony ps-lx310 w. built-in preamp) sounds awful to me. same when using the phono of the sony receiver (stdh-190) The cartridge isn't changeable so would a Rolls (or other preamp you recommend) be an improvement in my sound? going into retirement and not sure i can afford another turntable. thanks. your examples sound great!
