Bit of a smart ass comment but thought its good to know since it applies for all sorts of things. UART is not playstation oriented… its a form of communication available in a LOT of electronics. Including arduino for personal projects. UART stands for universal asynchronous receiver / transmitter and is a simple, two-wire protocol for exchanging serial data. Asynchronous means no shared clock, so for UART to work, the same bit or baud rate must be configured on both sides of the connection. Just for anyone out there curious reading comments

I think Joey is a pretty chilled guy. This has happened before and I think he prefers the content and challenge to repair. Which to be fair is pretty hopeful since if he can fix the item and sell it then it's a win for him. It's not right or fair but hey that's okay as long as he can try and get some money back. You grow, you learn, you keep moving forward.

Joey seems to get comfortable with the fixes over time. Quite a number of episodes we get in season 2. Keep up, we need that target ASAP for season 3 or whatever.

hey joey, ive been watching your videos for a few weeks now before going to bed :D Getting to know a bit more about tech, while you hands on explaining it takes away my fear of working on my motorcycle and doing something wrong. Joey, could you do a volt meter tutorial??? Talk about how to get an ohms reading, what it means? How to get a diode reading and what it means? When to use the two…In laymen’s terms!! I think it would be so beneficial. Appreciate your videos. Long time viewer.

You can research the use of a multimeter, and to comprehend it better in terms of physics, Ohms Law. Diodes are a bit different but also easy to understand

You chose not to show the uv light because some people "don't like it" . Are they afraid it's going to burn their eyes? UV recorded on camera upsets people? I'm so confused.

I think it’s a nod to a recurring joke that Northridge Fix is making. IMO, if you believe UV lights travel through a camera, you deserve to lose your eyesight

SPOILER - PLEASE ONLY LOOK AT END OF VIDEO! 😊😊 An item that was sold in this episode was actually raised as a return on eBay. I'll be looking at it as soon as I received it back in the post. Options will be given to the customer once I've had a check over, if the damage is too bad, I'll offer a replacement, or alternatively a full refund of the sale 😊 I'll also update Sally when I can after the inspection. loving the series! i suspect the bridge under the controller is at least partially because the carrier pcb of the ic has bowed slightly, so the balls at the corners have less clearance and more tendency to smoosh together (check 21:00 to see the bow)

Joey! Have you ever thought of using hot glue? Like for the fan connector in this episode, those two DIY wick ground pads are all that's holding it in place, so I feel like a dab of hot glue would help parts like that hold in place way better and for longer, and it's non conductive anyway (usually).

If you ever open an electronic device such as this and find hot glue around connectors, etc. you automatically know that someone who has no clue what they are doing has been there before ;)

Hey Joey I have some Series S Series X and headsets that should be some easy fixes I can sell them for a cheaper deal than you usually buy them for they’ve been sitting in my closet and I’ve been wishing for them to be fixed I just don’t have the tools and I think your the right guy to take them off my hands

Could you salvage more of the ripped pads (on the fan in this case) and glue them back to the board? the lifted but not detached ones could also be glued back on.

Joey, really, you NEED TO use thicker or multiple wires for the fans power and ground connection! These tiny wires will get too hot when the fan is running at full speed, especially if it's also a clogged due to use in a dusty environment or so.

Should have just de-solded the two big pads from the fan connector rather than cutting them, as they are fully intact and then just scraped the board sections underneath and re-stick them with high temperature epoxy. That's how i was taught in the factory, lvl 4. Saves time and hassle

If you think that hasnt been open further than that perhaps they tried to take the fan connector off and decided not to go further than that just to be safe

I always wonder with this kind of ripped pads, if it wouldn't be better to solder on some real wires and the connector detached from the board, so you could route it through the hole. A bit messy for sure, but if in the future you need to disconnect the fan, you have a lower risk of ripping off the new connector.

Not really related to the content of the video, but I was wondering if you've done some repair work on Dualsense controllers? Namely, replacing the analog sticks. I don't have the skills nor the vision to do it myself, but from what I can surmise, it's not too difficult to do? I brought mine into a repair shop in *September*, and I'm still waiting for them to fix it. :/ I am wondering if it's a skill thing, or some other reason.

@ 31:07 - "i'm not going to show you onstream becaus some people don't like it" - wtf ? you know the UV doesn't come out the other end lollll our screens are not reproducing UV wavelengths... that's hilarious. That's like saying you need to wear a welding mask whilst watching a welding video haha

I have a razer blackwidow chroma keyboard(1st gen, the best) but it doesn’t work properly anymore since some cables I soldered off, kinda by accident… Would you be able to fix it? I have tried to multimeter it myself because of your series! I can ship it and you can keep it/sell/whatever, just would love to see what the fault is after all, cheers!
