I noticed the coasting by the top players a while back. I still struggle to do it but maybe this will help. I just did 5 laps at Zand. While the temp was a tad high at 26-33c my time wasn't bad. Around 1:35 and started with 40 liters of fuel. It was interesting to see how much later I brake than James and how much earlier I get on the throttle vs coasting. We are only a few tens apart in the first 2 sectors but he's a good 1.5 seconds faster in the 3rd sector. I've always struggled with those two turns after the two mid speed turns! The hard right and left before the little str8 that leads to the chicane. James takes those two turns much faster then I do and goes much wider. This app will definitely be fun to explore. Seeing the difference in steering angle also helps as he's opening his steering well before I am due to getting better rotation

Nice! I like how you identify the corner entry as an area that is costing you time and how you can improve. The track view and colour shadings are very welcome.
@easybreeze12 ай бұрын
Comparing a front engine against a mid engine is a little silly as it's harder to rotate, James is using throttle, coasting and braking to distribute the weight around differently than you will in the 296 so it's not wise to copy completely his inputs. Also is the temp, weather and track condition the same? As others have said, track titan and popometer has this but i agree i like the birds eye view in real-time. Personally I wouldn't pay subscription for this though... it's a game at the end of the day, just watch track guides and practice, that's what makes it fun and rewarding.

Very cool tool. Being able to visualize the data is super-helpful.
@BrKnOblivion2 ай бұрын
The only thing I see here is fancy graphics on an inferior detail level. If you want direct information on your driving, you tent to over turn at mid corner creating understeer when you get on the loud pedal you haven't gotten out of the steering enough and that's giving you the twitch causing you to lift and counter steer on corner exit. It's simple driving dynamics. End of the day having the data fancy or not won't fix your line or inputs any better.
@MaxfromPine872 ай бұрын
also, comparing telemetry from different cars is a bit pointless, different cars will have different behaviours, coasting suits some cars more than others…so that doesn’t mean that is what you doing wrong Possibly even setup changes will affect telemetry 😅
@tomjxn2 ай бұрын
The game changer here is the comparison as you showed. This is great. I think it's also important to note that the coasting and braking does differ between cars given the weight transfer for mid/front engined cars, but either way it's still an awesome tool by the looks of it.

this is good for simracing these kind of softwares, i know theres quite a few out there but its good because it makes it more accesible & easier for anyone starting on proper simulators and give new starters an idea what it takes to get close to top esports drivers. ultimately bring more interest into simracing. FYI kireth i think you need to sort out your steering ratio cause i think it looks out of sync 800 steering ratio for the ferrari 296 gt3 this will help improve laptime as well

to an extent you are right. but the only variable there is driving style. Just because someone is fast in a set up doesnt mean the set up is a good one. Same way if someone is slow, doesnt mean set up is bad. set ups should be tailored to your style but you should also make sure your driving the car properly. (is the under/oversteer from your inputs/line/set up) figuring that out in return will improve your driving OVERALL

@@Kireth Also think about something that indicates how you're working the tyres. I know it's different for one lap or a whole stint, but when driving against James I'd want to know how he's managing his tyres in each situation, and where my tyres are relatively hot or relatively cold to his. If he'd record a whole stint and we'd get to use the same setup and everything, it would be helpful to have his commentary on tyre management. What he's doing pre-emptively and reactively. A tyre feeling slippy or showing as heating up, what does he do, and does the telemetry show that it's working? During a who stint, ideally James' effort would reset all the time so we are the ideal "copying" distance. Ideally to be set to various following distances. Voice commands "follow closer"/"follow further". Can the software tell to brake 5 meters sooner than the previous lap and more powerfully for instance and then coast a lot? Every straight you could mentally prepare for the next turn or sequence.

@emteehed2 ай бұрын
none of the telemetry data gathering and analysis matters if you actively choose not to adjust the way you drive. as displayed in your previous video you and one other against a 'Pro'. In that video it's plain as day you use too much steering angle to rotate the car compared to the 'Pro' and he still gets the car rotated and through the turns faster. if you don't take action to change your driving... then what's the point of this video... sure... you're using the software as stated in the title of the video, BUT it's definitely not to make yourself faster in the sim... you're still under the delusion the steering wheel 'rotates' the car. you turn the steering wheel too much and understeer through turns scrubbing tires. the steering wheel rotates the tires. The tires DEFLECT the forward kinetic energy of the car. it's the KINETIC ENERGY of the vehicle that rotates the car. NOT YOU NOR THE STEERING WHEEL. if you park the car and turn the steering wheel the car does not rotate. you're borrowing kinetic energy from forward motion and applying it to yaw rotation. which is why driving straight is faster than slaloming...

I couldn't possibly think of a worse possible take on this video. "...what's the point of this video" Dude, just make your own channel. The point of this video is not for him to flex how much faster he is making himself. The point of this video is to tell us about this app. That's it. Move on bro.
