When I saw this trade I knew it was going to be good for both teams. I am a Devils fan and would have loved to keep Sharangovich but we just didn't have a place for his talent on our team so I am glad he is doing really great with the Flames.

As a Flames fan, one of the first things I did after the trade was look at New Jersey fan sites to see what people were saying about him, and I was glad to see a lot of fans were happy for Sharangovich and felt he needed and deserved an opportunity somewhere else. When a player has a down year and gets scratched in the playoffs, but fans still support him, I think it says a lot. Clearly NJ is a team on the rise and made some big acquisitions to go for it, and Sharangovich got squeezed out. On the flip side, the Flames are taking a step back and regrouping, so it made sense for us to get a younger player with some upside and team control. I am glad the trade is working out for both teams.

Sharangovich was an awesome Devil but he didn't have the opportunities he should've gotten because of all of the talent in the top 6. I'm glad to see him being a beast on the Flames!

I'm glad as well. The Devils are one of my back-up teams for when the Flames are out and I need another team to root for. I am glad Toffoli wound up there and is a valued part of the team.

@scottstenlund4431 Have you thought about the context around Timo? He was injured when he came to NJ last year, had to get adjusted to a team with a completely different system. This year he had a slow start, then got really hot, becoming a point per game before injury. When he returned from IR he was still playing injured, then scored in like 4 or 5 consecutive games before getting injured again. Injuries have been devastating to this team, and calling Timo's contract horrible is such an early overeaction considering. Chill out, and if he's still underperforming in a year or two, playing healthy, then you can argue that.

My son played with Sharangovich a few years back when they were both on the Belarusian national team. You could see a lot of potential with him, he skates very well, he has a real active motor and he’s a good size. All he needed was the opportunity. I have to give the Flames credit for recognizing his potential. I can say without reservation, he could play 20 minutes a night in all situations. Great trade for Calgary , they got a good one in Yegor.

I was getting really down on Huberdeau for a while but now it seems he's finding his way back to his former self and regaining his confidence and swagger. You can just see it in his level of play lately. He played a really good game last night, and got a couple of really nice assists that only a skilled player who is right on his game and feeling confident in his abilities could make. I'm now becoming a fan and am cheering for him to keep on his journey back to being the 100+ point player he was with Florida. I too, was very upset when we lost Toffoli but now I'm starting to believe we just may have gotten the better end of that trade. This guy Sharangovich is every bit the scorer Toffoli is, he's much quicker and a much better skater and he's got 6 more years of future on him. Time will tell who got the better end of that trade or if it works out to be pretty much even for both sides (which wouldn't be a bad thing for the Flames. Go Flames go!

As other NJD fans said, Sharky didn't have much room to shine in NJ, unfortunately, even though everyone could see his talent. To get Toffoli we had to give up talent. I still hope it will be result in a playoff run this year or the next few years. We'll see. Nice to to see Shar scoring and fitting in in Calgary.

I don't watch much Flames hockey but it puts a smile on my face seeing Coleman not only first give the goalie a flinch shoulder drop but then aimed his shot AND elevated his shot knowing all these goalies just go down all the time.Sharagovich di th esame gave that flinch move to get the goalie to flinch then deked and upstairs.

I liked Sharky when he was still with the Devils. So when the trade came out I was more optimistic than most. I am so happy he has settled in and really found a home here. I think he is going to be a big piece for us for years to come.

Loved Sharangovich when he was with the Devils. But as others have said, he was a streaky scorer. He needed top 6 minutes to keep producing, but Ruff kept demoting and scratching him. I'm glad that he's lighting it up now.

After watching how slow Toffoli was Captaining the Canada team, I was optimistic about this trade from the start. Even though he’s still great. Flames have a tendency to hold on to guys too long, and trading for a young Sharangovich with potential was a gamble I was glad Conroy took!

It seems to me that last season Sharangovich did not have much playing time and minutes in PP for one reason - Lindy Ruff, is Nichushkin a bad player? no, he’s one of the best in the league, but when Ruff was coach in Dallas, Nichushkin’s contract was bought out 😅

I didn't get why Flames fans were so against this trade. Sharangovich is a 20 goal scorer with a wicked wrist shot that can beat goalies from distance, he's 25, under contract and was pretty cheap because the Devils didn't have a good spot for him after the Timo Meier deal jumbled their lineup. Plus the Flames got a pick on top of that. That was an excellent trade for Calgary.

Tofolli is a hired gun in the league. He’s just one of those guys who’s good,real good,but not great enough to stay in one city for the rest of his career.🫡 I like him. I’d like to see him back in Vancouver,but I admire his willingness to go wherever he needs to in order to get his paper and play hockey.
