They explained the Mitchov scratches recently. Because there is still a language barrier, they wanted for him to sit and observe the game and how the lines were being run. They then brought in a translator explained to him at depth at what the organization required of him on the ice. Since then he exploded, so it was part of the process as Torts said it was.

Michkov's talent makes his ceiling high, but it's his character that makes him a potential superstar. He's driven to score. Obsessed with winning, hates to lose. Wants the puck in high-pressure situations. Amazing work ethic, always on the ice. Quote of the year after one of his OT winners: "You have to be cold-blooded." That's why Flyers fans love him.

@jmarx3943Ай бұрын
This kid is the most skilled player my flyers have drafted since Giroux, and I'd put him ahead of G to be honest. Playoffs or no, this season is all about seeing Michkov develop is game. Personally, I'd like to see them get a very high draft pick, but it doesn't look like that will be the case. We still need a number 1 center AND defenseman.
@darthollpheist1156Ай бұрын
Naw..... They are good on D. They need a center and a goalie. Or, they need the goalies they have to develop faster. They both seem to have potential but one is huge, but moves around WAY too much which puts him out of position. The other is small and sits too deep in his net which leaves big openings. Both have a weak 5 hole, too. Ersson is good but he's not a top tier goalie and he's always hurt. Kosolov is their best bet for the future but he needs to get better. He's the reason they lost the last game. He was good against the Bruins but last game, he was a beer leaguer. They have a top tier D man and a few that are right there with him. In fact, they have too many D. They need a center.... and probably a goalie.
@jeremiahgallagherАй бұрын
Shaw is incredible with the defensemen, I feel confident in Sanheim, Drysdale, York, Andrae etc. there, and I think they've hit on a couple of these goalies. Ersson is really good. Koly looks good though a super small sample so far. Fedotov has looked at times awful, and then sensational so we'll see. That #1 center is the big spot to me. But everything else is looking bright for the first time in a long time. So close last season, it's exciting to see the team continue to develop. Great foundation right now though

@@toddlauretteHabsforlife yep MM and Demidov on the same line would be sick. And you are right Rothenberg is doing the same thing with Demidov again. He is outpacing celebrini there’s no chance a rookie ppg player doesn’t win it over a player who scores less and is more valuable as a two way player, just wouldn’t happen I don’t even know the last Calder winner who wasn’t besides bunting last year but he was already 26 as a rookie. If mitchkov keeps pace he will surpass auston Matthews, kiprizov, mackinnon, etc to which all won the Calder, the only times a defensemen wins it if he is able to put up minimum 50 points and not have a center who has a decent sized lead in points compared to the other forwards, which would be only less then barzal with 85 when he won it, you’d have to go back to 2005 when Ovie when the last time a rookie even sniffed a 100 points. McDavid likely would have if not missing substantial time with injury and even then you could have made a case for him winning it with 48 points in 45 games) you’d have to go back a decade at least with ekblad who won it with 39 points as a dman and you also had 3 forwards with exactly 63 points so it sort of made sense as not a single forward pulled ahead of the pack. If a forward is clearly leading the pack in points and all it’s literally his to lose as of right now.
