Fun fact: The Dodo in the original represents the author himself. He had a stutter and could not pronounce his name at times. His last name was Dodgson (Lewis Carroll is just a pseudonym), and he would often say "Do- Do- Dodgson" - hence the dodo figure in the text. Not really relevant, but I thought it was cool!

+ don’t forget none of the easy jokes about female physical and mental illness or weakness (not necessarily from Jack but from tons of other popular male KZbinrs). Very refreshing. Thanks so much Gab.
@bryanharrison38892 жыл бұрын
@@BeakerInShortShorts I think the fact that men's mental health has been all but ignored for hundreds of years and men showing the slightest signs of emotional dynamics, vulerability, and/or fragility being told to "suck it up" and "man up" and "don't be a crybaby" have earned men a bit of leeway in the critical commentary of how many women in the world can literally express their feelings and emotions to the point absurdity and insanity on a near hourly basis completely unchecked in almost all circumstances by society at large. So yeah. The jokes are easy. Its easy to make jokes about 50% of the population given carte blanche on how they choose to act in public, be it sane, insane, logical, bat-shit crazy, or calm and collected, with almost no backlash from society or from a legal standpoint. Let me put this in a different light for a moment. Angry woman drives up to a nice car, gets out of her car with a knife. She proceeds to slit all 4 tires on that nice car while yelling expletives. She then jams the knife into the paint and walks around the car, scratching the car from end to end on all four sides. She then goes to her car, grabs a gallon of paint from the back, opens the can, and dumps the paint on the car. While yelling expletives. Then throws the empty can at the car. Then goes back to her car, grabs a ball bat, and busts all the lights, then proceeds to break all the glass, then randomly beats the car for a few seconds before she tires herself. Then she puts the bat back into her car and drives off. She didn't buy the car, doesn't own the car, but destroyed the car. Not only does she do this, but nobody bothers to stop her, and it is EXTREMELY unlikely that the cops would come while she's doing it. Sure... hte owner will call the cops, she MIGHT get charged. MIGHT. if she does, she will DEFINITELY release the waterworks and let the tears flow in court for the judge and she MIGHT pay a fine, and she MIGHT go to jail. But there's a DAMN GOOD CHANCE SHE WON'T. The whole time she's in court, IF she goes to court for destroying a 50k$ car she doesn't own, the entire time she's there, she's going to be talking shit about the owner of the car "he's a player/evil/mean/broke up with me/cheater/whatever I can think of to justify destroying 50,000$ worth of property in broad daylight in front of 200 random bystanders trying to walk their dog or bring groceries upstairs" and what she says about the guy may, or may not be true. But even if it IS true, none of what she says would justify destroying a 50k car that she never made a single payment on. BUT HER WATERWORKS, SOBBING, AND STORY MIGHT ACTUALLY WORK AND SHE MIGHT GO HOME WITH A SMALL FINE, OR NO CONSEQUENCES AT ALL. Its likely she'd pay a fine, but VERY unlikely she'd go to jail. Now let's look at this EXACT scenario but a man does it. He'd be on the ground in cuffs before he got the paint can open. IF he managed to do the same thing the woman did and managed to destroy the whole car and leave, and that's a BIG if, he would ABSOLUTELY be taken to jail. He'd ABSOLUTELY be charged. If he tried to cry and sob his way out of it, it would do ABSOLUTELY NO GOOD. During court, if he started crying about it, judge would NOT CARE. If he started calling the woman a bunch of names/cheater/evil/asshole etc, THE JUDGE WOULD NOT CARE. As a matter of fact, the MORE the man tried that tactic, the WORSE it would get for him. The judge would interrupt the guy, tell him to stop talking, and point blank say "Do you own that car?" "no". "Do you make payments on that car?" "no" "WHAT WERE YOU DOING DESTROYING THAT LADY'S CAR? ARE YOU CRAZY? WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU". "I don't know... I lost my mind for a minute judge, and the next thing I know I'd destroyed her car. I'm sorry." "Sorry doesn't cut it. 6 months in jail, pay for damages, I'm awarding the plantiff 25k pain and suffering because now she's afraid to leave her house" "but your honor I-" "I DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT. YOU HAD NO RIGHT TO DESTROY HER PROPERTY". That's the part people leave out when they complain about men making a few jokes about the absolute absurd behaviors women are allowed to get away with on a daily basis in western society. "jokes hurt my feewings" No. Jokes made you see the hard facts about life for a second and you didn't like it. More men commit suicide than women. More men are depressed. Men are often shamed for seeking mental health advice. MEn who express their emotions are seen as weak and treated as less than. The court systems are much more severe and less lenient on men that women for the same crimes. If a man were to do a "typical female public meltdown" there'd be 15 cop cars outside before he was able to stop to take a breath. But a woman can have a literal chernobyl meltdown over a latte not having whipped cream and 15 minutes later act like nothing happened, and everybody in the startbucks just goes back to what they were doing. If a man did it, they'd sit and talk about it for 2 days and every employee there would bring it up like "you should have seen this dude freak out and lose his shit over whipped cream. what a fucking douchebag". So yeah. Let's keep those jokes coming. Women have earned them.
@BeakerInShortShorts2 жыл бұрын
Wow son, I don’t know what you’re exactly going through though this essay about how all women deserve to be wrecked shows some signs but I was thinking about jokes about Alice being on her period making her angrier not once but continuously once she gets the blood boost was hard to hear after the second repeated joke in some male play throughs. I would encourage you to read some history especially about the treatment of women during the 20th century in North America. I hope it will give you a good understanding about who’s suffered more as recently as 20 years ago for all of human history, meaning your mother, your grandmothers etc. I’d also like to direct you to investigate other animals all over the planet that are matriarchal and in which the females can be seen as the bullies. What humans need is (hate to steal it here)but a modern solution for this modern problem. We all need to treat each other with respect and forgiveness. Tall order. On a serious note, I hope you have not been pulled into the manosphere. You seem intelligent but obviously very frustrated and angry with a dash of cherry picking examples of people, women or girls, being awful or receiving what you describe as preferential treatment due to their gender. Maybe, if the manosphere thing is true, you can research some of my recommendations above to break out of the echo chamber you might have found yourself in. Finally, I have hope for you to heal as you don’t seem in a good place. You are here on Evelyn’s channel and I hope that’s not just to rabidly look for “feminist” comments to shoot down but because you can enjoy her content and secondly you mentioned mental help throughout your response. I’m hoping that means you are thinking about trying some therapies yourself or already are trying them. I mean this in the most helpful way. If you don’t want anyone else to know because of the things you said above, literally no one else has to know. If it’s good enough for Jacksepticeye or countless other North American men, it stands to reason it would also help you to heal. Good luck 🍀

I guess because they like these graphics better than the first ones. I definitely like the graphics of this one more I feel the characters are better represented.

@@zeldork7857 I’m currently playing the old one. It’s great in terms of concept, but there are a lot of flaws. You can’t skip cutscenes when you’re forced to talk to characters, it gets buggy sometimes, and the controller settings are wacky, but mainly because it was made for PC, and overall, I just suck at video games lol.

There's a significance to teeth falling out in dreams. Yes, most people were adversarial in the first game. You can only access the violets when you're shrunk, so they are Shrinking Violets. American is trying to develop _Alice Asylum_ to release through EA since they have the license. It's not only crowdfunded through Kickstarter, but also crowd-designed through his Wednesday streams and Discord. There're a lot of cool ideas being tossed out, like giving the dresses cool powers. And also having actual boss fights, not like the fake-out here. I can't help thinking the Clockwork Rabbit is a precursor to a lot of similar things. Like Amber's Baron Bunny in _Genshin Impact_ .

I'm kinda excited FOR you. As a massive Alice in Wonderland fan, this game series blew my mind. The original is worth seeing too, but the level of darkness and intensity is a homage to the alleged darkness that surrounds the writing of the original books. I remember being so excited to see how each part of the story was interpreted through American McGee's very gothic lens. Sorry to gush, but being a fan of Alice in Wonderland and stumbling across this game is a strong memory for me. It's such an amazing game. I've only recently gotten into American Mcgee's Alice games, and I love them so much. I noticed there are some similarities between this and Dmc Devil May Cry. The inky joints held together by porcelain masks, dolls, bodies, etcetera. And the way when Alice strikes the porcelain and inky characters, they spew ink everywhere. The color scheme, very much Limbo during the Hatter's Domain. Dmc Devil May Cry didn't have much going for it in terms of story, characters, and combat, but it did have good environments and enemy design. So does Alice, but on a way better scale, everything bad, even what was good about Dmc Devil May Cry. Alice just does perfectly. Stay mad, friends. And enjoy Alice: Madness returns! Played beautifully by Gab Smolders.

I'm honestly not into watching other people play games, but this one is such a gem that I just had to see your reactions. So dark and twisted but at the same time beautiful, I guess not everyone likes that, judging by the score it got. I'm glad people are finally appreciating games like this one. On a side note, I bet you would also enjoy playing Shadows of the Damned, it used to be very underrated, but finally people are picking up on how awesome it is.
