I couldn't see any impact, at all. The small guy does "tap" himself, though, while looking at the "ref", after the last swing. IDK what they're doing, lol. Maybe he had to go a certain amount of time without getting hit..?! It's some kind of event, and this strange "game" seems to be a side show to what they're really they're for..?! When your opponent constantly attacks you and you don't respond, it makes defending much easier. Because you always expect a punch, but you don't take the risk and throw a punch. This way you run less deficit.

I got my first black belt in 1979 😳 I've trained many karate styles, Tai Chi, Yuaqan, karate weapons, bokken and naked sword and have my own style of knife fighting. Can you say the same???? Even sansetsukan nunchaku and sansetsukan bo. I know it's just a sparring match, with the usual humour thrown in, just as as my sensei Etienne laughed, when in "supposed" non contact karate (🤣🤣🤣), handed me boxing gloves and knocked me right across the floor. His kakatu-geri was the most potent. From the sky a foot would crash into my chest and send me flying and no matter how much I tried to avoid that, he was exceptionally fast. I know this is just sparring 🤪

I think this was some type of a game/challenge cz you can see a guy with a mic just popping into view as the vide ends. I guess the dude evading those shots is a pro and the attacker is just some random person. They pbbly have 60 secs or so and if they manage to land a punch within that time frame they win the challenge. Though as I said these are all just assumptions.

Not really practical though. In an actual fight you need too also be hitting back, hence why you don't see boxers running all around the ring with their arms down... It's not that hard too dodge punches in this stance especially against opponents who telegraph their punches. This guy may look accurate but he's punching where the shorter guy IS and not where he is going to be. It really doesn't work as well as it may seem too here when your in a proper fight
