I had the same thought. It feels like he's in real pain. It's like a punch in your guts. I don't know why but I imagine a guy walking down the street, remembering all his life while crimson blossoms cause by a gunshot expand on his shirt. And he just replays his life and the scene that just happened, while losing his conscence, thinking about the things he could have done differently and how, if things were different, the world would be a better place. At the end of the song, he falls down and the blood covers the asphalt. This is really sad but it just plays in my mind whenever I listen to this version. It feels more suffered and depressing
