"This Is An Absolute JOKE!" | Huw Edwards Named BBC's Highest-Earning Newsreader

Huw Edwards is expected to be named as the BBC’s highest-earning newsreader almost one year after the inappropriate messages scandal that took him off air.
Edwards was suspended by the broadcaster in July last year over allegations that he received inappropriate messages from a younger person and gave them money.
As the BBC prepares to announce its annual report this summer, details of Edwards’s six-figure salary are expected to be published 12 months after he last appeared on screens. The report typically includes the salaries of all staff paid more than £178,000 for the 12 months to the end of March.
TalkTV's Kevin O'Sullivan and Alex Phillips are joined by campaign director of Defund The BBC Rebecca Ryan who says it is an "absolute insult to the British people" that Edwards remains the BBC's highest earner despite not appearing on air for eight months.

Fired for what?The police said he committed no crime. If he committed no crime, that means both parties were old enough to exchange explicit photos. If he bought photos from someone under the age of consent, he would have committed a crime. There is not much to investigate. Just the age of the guy who sold him the photos at the time of the transaction.. It was either legal or not legal. If it was legal, it was just his private life and nobody's business.

When I was too ill my pay was cut in half at about 6 months and then I had no pay at all. I had to go into Statutory Sick Pay which is very little. In the end I was medically dismissed. No medical help from the college where I worked and only lots of letters demanding to know when I would be back.

The BBC needs to allow people to not have a license but own a TV. When you buy a license, use that code to register to receive BBC programmes, or, Pay per programme.
