There was no might... he just got lucky that Natuto unlocked some six paths sage Chakra for a while during the fights after being revived. So I get that you say might because he does live. But in the context of Kakashi in this situation, he completely thinks Guy will die because there's no medical ninjustu good enough to stop thar kindave Chakra drain. Naruto had to basically seal it up with charka to not only stop the drain but give him something to live off. Then, real medical ninjustu could be done.

So his respect dissappeared very quickly. I always knew he was cool, but not that cool as kage or someone better, because they never showed it properly. Kakashi was facing every possible enemy he could've. He had the connections with the best of good and evil ninjas. Guy had no plot, no fights, no hype, and a lot of funny lines.
