They did. RUFFALO Hulk gets weaker everytime he appears on screen but I am in a little disagreement with Norton Hulk. I Actually Liked Bana Hulk Better he was Just A little too BIG. My main reason for the overrating view of Norton Hulk ( among other things ) is he bled. I Started reading Hulk in 1978 until 1995 ( sporadically have checked in on my favorite comic character thereafter ) and i never saw him bleed in green form. He had briefly turned gray at one point and he met up with Wolverine again and Logan gutted him in 1987 ( Hulk 340 ) but in Green form Savage or Professor ( no immortal, world WAr, World breaker or Maestro yet back then ) you couldn't lay a scratch on him

Thanos has shields that held up against The Champion who at the time possessed the power gem and shattered a planet in their fight. Did he forget about his shields and other powers when in the Hulk fight? If a writer has to make it where Thanos forgot his own powers so Hulk had a chance is not a well written story. A well written story would have come up with an explanation on why Thanos only used his physical abilities.

I can't understand why people continually bring up Thanos statement from his fight with 1991 Champion about how "over the years" he (Thanos) avoided fighting the Hulk. Thanos literally had just received his permanent power upgrade by Mistress Death only a couple of comics earlier. Of course "over the years" before that he needed to avoid fighting the Hulk. He probably avoided the Silver Surfer before that too. But we all know how that goes afterwards dont we? After his 1991 Death upgrade neither the Silver Surfer nor the Hulk is a match for him. Hes just out of their league.

Clearly wrong after this comic. FYI, Thanos never defeated the champion through straight up beating him. He had to manipulate him to give him the power stone. Base hulk clearly has a massive gap to cross to defeat thanos. But this wasn’t base hulk, this was a variant of savage hulk that is already much stronger than his base form and still gets stronger the angrier he gets. Thanos was overconfident and didn’t take hulk seriously enough and hulk snuck in a knockdown after getting strong enough.

@jackbruno953 Thanos has over 30 years of extreme combat feats to his credit. Thanos stood up to Tyrant and gave him a good fight (Tyrant is equal to Galactus). He Stalemated Odin, he tanked "well-fed" Galactus full power blast's, and Galactus was nearly drained of energy because of it. Thanos defeated the post retconn Beyonder in a straight up fight. He ripped the Galactus engine out of Ego the living planet. He defeated ""Omega Thanosii" which was stated as twice Galactus normal power. He stalemated "Power gem" Thor (Thor had the power gem) just before Thanos fought Odin in very next book. He invaded Galactus mind before. He took on and defeated the Gamma enhanced Annihilus and won. He's blasted away "4" equally powerful Silver Surfers at once without even breaking a sweat. I've got more, but I don't remember them all at this moment.

Thanos beats hulk 9/10 times still the gap is usually just that great. Thanos effortlessly breaks hulks neck. While hulk with all his strength could only knock the wind out of thanos. There is a clear gap in strength. But I’m glad it respected hulk by showing you shouldn’t toy around with him. Thanos lost cause of his overconfidence and was laser focused on the mind stone. But the fact that hulk traded blows and kept up with a team buster is impressive in itself. The tile is click bait and an overstatement. But this is still a great feat for hulk and lines up with what he has been capable in recent comics. I love hulk but I’m smart enough to know that thanos usually beats him. But it is true that in all their encounters thanos never really fought savage hulk. To summarize, Thanos is usually just a tier above Hulk and being like Thor and silver surfer. Hulk at his strongest has basically been shown to be sky father level. So Odin was able to match thanos. Hulks hypothetical limit is far beyond anything thanos could match. But he has never reached it and I doubt he will. In the end thanos is insane. But hulk is respectable that in just pure strength he was able to go toe to toe with thanos like this.

Fair point but this loss is more justifiable. This is Fractured Son Hulk, who is more powerful than base Savage Hulk. He's Green Scar level or a bit higher and Green Scar had Hercules bruised and bloodied in like 3 hits whereas it would normally be a back and forth fight between him and normal hulk without either having lasting damage.

@@jjboy157 this comic depicts the exact power levels between Hulk and Thanos. Makes sense that they’ve never really had a full on one on one fight before now. It’s either Thanos runs away or he has the gauntlet to boost him. Many potential talking points were addressed in this comic and it’ll be a basis for future rematches between the two. You could even tell Thanos was concerned to fight the Hulk. Where have we ever seen Thanos negotiate in order to avoid a fight? The MCU depiction was a mistake made by directors that had no history with comics and even they have said in interviews afterwards that they might have handled that showdown a bit differently.

So 1) Thanos is weaker 2) Hulk is stronger and even then 3) Hulk caught him by surprise. It wasn't a fair victory man, it wasn't a one sided domination, Thanos was answering every single one of Hulk's attacks, and towards the end of the fight he was literally ragdolling him, Hulk had to resort to a cheapshot from behind, and finishes him off with the help of Colleen wing, because he knew he can't beat Thanos in hand-to-hand combat.

@@Diviance That cheapshot did not kill Thanos nor knocked him out, just temporarily put him on his knees before Colleen wing arrives and stabs him, it shows that even the strongest shot of Hulk can't kill or knock him out, and i do not think that Thanos is dead, he will be back, technically, Thanos beat him in terms of hand-to-hand combat and Hulk knows that, so he had to resort to a cheapshot instaed of challenging Thanos upfront for another round.

Thanos never fought savage hulk. Stop spreading misinformation. Smart Hulk literally overpowered thanos with stones in the original infinity war run. Every other time was a team battle or had some disadvantage to hulk. This is the first time a savage variant had a true 1v1. Hulk was getting dominated but eventually got angry enough and snuck in a hit on thanos’s back. Knocking him down. Thanos is a teambuster. Even if this was a cheap shot it shows that if you get hulk mad enough he can even match your strength. Thanos wins 9/10 times but this was a scenario where he wasn’t even focused on hulk. Which allowed hulk to get strong enough to knock him down.

This isn’t base hulk clearly. Thanos would simply punch base hulk into the next country. This hulk is a savage variant and gets stronger the madder he gets. The Hulk has only been shown as stronger than Thanos literally in the past couple years and for the past.. idk, 30+ Thanos has been shown as hilariously stronger than Hulk every single other time they’ve crossed paths, and he also regularly shits on characters who give Hulk a hard time. Thanos beat Silver Surfer to death in less than a page, I’m pretty sure on two separate occasions.
