TBH... Starbucks was my first job. I loved it...the way they train baristas is that beans are done on sustainable farms and empower local families across the world. So even after I grew up, and became an adult, my thought process surrounding Starbucks has been based on my training as a barista. I'm actually shocked and appalled... I had no idea!! Thanks for sharing this information

To be fair, when it comes to the Coke comparison, those numbers can’t be taken out of context. 20g of sugar isn’t always 20g of sugar. The calories from sugar might be the same, but if consumed with fat, the glycemic index is reduced. Meaning glucose will reach your blood slower. Starbucks drinks have a lot of fat while Coke has none. While it is still harder (than Coke) on people trying to keep their weight, it’s less harmful to blood sugar processes

Funny. I work at Starbucks. We feel that the farmers are getting paid good and no child labor. Have not finished the video but this is surprising to me.

Can imagine! If you are in the US, you are likely exposed to very human rights compliant policies. No wonder!

Breakfast isn't actually a lie and bacon or sausage and eggs actually not bad for you - lard > fake fats for sure. Especially for those that work out and such. Though otherwise I understand what this is getting at and figured it out long ago.

Processed food with chemicals and preservatives vs organic.

organic literally means carbon based... I believe that you might have the naturalistic fallacy doing you over a bit here... while some things can be harmful, to say ALL preservatives, chemicals, additives etc are bad/harmful or all processing makes you diseased is... disingenuous.

I was going to say that but the fanboys... The people who actually do physical work for a living know that breakfast is absolutely the most important meal for a workday, but when I'm stuck at the computer it doesn't matter because I don't need those extra calories to burn for fuel. But if I don't get at least one egg before a physical workday the whole day is skewed.

@@grapeseed427 I see what you're saying, but not everybody is wired the same way. I do physical work in construction but am in a weird position that I only really work during spring & summer. When I'm working, I absolutely don't eat breakfast, as I'm a "feet hit the floor right into my work boots" kind of guy. But in cozy boy season, I sleep in a bit and instead of waking up in my work boots, I'm at the stove whipping up some bacon & eggs. I guess I'm more of a hibernation type.
