My fav part of this episode is the single looming piece of music that doesn’t change once through the whole episode. I always expected the music to fade but at around the middle point I didn’t want it to go away. 10/10 episode

how confident would you have to be on the audience's love for your character that you release an episode that is technically mostly b-rolls of him and his progression?? this series is insane i love it so much

Those who haven't watched S1 and S2 would be completely lost in this S3 premier, but would probably still be awe of the cinematography and editing.

I had to rewatch this episode immediately after the first time. Things that are *genius* about it: - the way the music pulses in and out, but disappears momentarily when he’s speaking to Sydney, as if she’s pulling him out of his memory trance - the subtext in Claire’s line about “you win” - the way that this episode “subtracts” and distills the past and the present like Carmy is doing with the food - the fact that Sydney got the one special dish… I wonder if shes’ allergic to fennel. I don’t think she is. I think Carmy just wanted one random person to try his dish his way - the parallels between sugar saying “we’re here for you” and Sydney saying “we’re here for you” to Marcus - Tina seeing the fine dining through the phone and not knowing what it was - the music itself - the way this episode was so excellently crafted, it suggests that you savor, not binge, the series

Good point about the special dish he wanted to make his way

It’s so refreshing to get a show come around the same time each year instead of waiting 18-24 months for the next season. It’s like the only thing consistent in my life. With that being said, I actually hope season 4 is the last season. I guess they already filmed season 4

Noticed the chef that screamed at Garrett in Forks working alongside Carmy & Luka. Such great payoffs in the smallest ways in this show

This was an incredible way to kick off the season I like that they started with what is considered an epilogue with all these flashback scenes and shots from back before the shows start and shots from s1 and s2 and shots and scenes from after the last episode from s2 , I really liked that it was an epilogue even though epilogues are at the end of a book this one is at the start of a new season (s3) very clever that they wanted this to be the season opener even though this feels like an ending

The entire episode was a background montage. The entire episode! That's an incredibly ballsy move for any TV show. And it's lovely. Yes, that is Joel McHale, aka Jeff from Community. Which makes for two Community alumni in this show so far. Ritchie's ex-wife Tiff was Britta.

This episode was a masterpiece, we usually have to wait for second last episode or close to that in the season to get a highlight episode (not saying all the other episodes suck). Episode 2 was also brilliant the way everyone checks in.

I think the music really made this episode, it’s absolutely haunting and beautiful. This episode should be shown in cinematography class, if that’s a thing.
@Victor-Vargas5 ай бұрын
You bet cinematography class is a thing and as you'd expect it's difficult to get into because everyone wants to do it.

I don't know where to ask so I'll ask here.....what happened to all the friends content you announced you'd do ❓🤔 Last year you said you have I think at least 10 videos planned (tier list, season/character rankings, re-reacting to the pilot etc) . I was really looking forward to it but it's been over 8 months now. So are you gonna post all of this or did you quit for some reason ❓🤔

I love that this show comes out so quickly pretty much the same time every year unlike other shows that you end up waiting well over 2 years for a next season. Still waiting for stranger things, Severance,Yellowstone etc which are taking an age to come back . were as this show before you know it there back with another season and they've already filmed another season why doing this one.

"Olivia Coleman is probably the most wholesome actress ever" said no one who watched Fleabag... Also I really HATE the fade to blacks for commercial breaks. I heard they even added them in for season 1 breaking up the magnificence that was "Review". This episode would have been even better without them!!!

I agree somewhat. It felt like half were flashbacks of things that we’ve already seen. Some even twice. It feels like they could’ve sprinkled the flashback scenes from this episode into the story moving forward instead taking a full episode for it
