You should definitely drop hatch escapes as a loss. It essentially punishes you for getting the survivors and draws out the game with slugging for the four-man

It is because the 4th survivor e4scaped and won and you can't have 2 people on opposite teams winning at the same time. Someone has to win and the other has to lose. A 3k is a loss for the killer. @@davileonardo4462

That's why dark souls is the least popular game ever, it's challenging... oh wait... but achievement hunting is unpopular because those challenges aren't fun... but I'm sure that mods that increase the challenge like Fallout 3s survival mod would never be added to the base game(s) because it's not meant to be fun... My point is that it's (in my mind) a rule that doesn't add fun or challenge. I figured even the most Myopic individual would see Slugging isn't hard. It's not a challenge, but it is the answer, so it's not a challenge, and it's not fun so why add it. Maybe it makes good suspense and content which okay, and it's not my challenge so not my rules, so ultimately I'm just a voice in hundreds, voicing what I think.

@@VampiPink It's not hard in the sense it's related to skill though, hatch is completely arbitrary and random, you can't play around it. Requiring a 4K or you lose is just setting yourself up for insane suffering and praying to RNJesus.

I never slug for a 4k, its extremely boring and tedious to the survivors. For a challenge of this magnitude, he has to or lose a killer due to a hatch. Really no fix to this because you cannot have a re-trial because you can't take away pips earned from said trial. Spookys' way at approaching this challenge is the most difficult and fun to watch. I would like for him to change up perks, but then again I would like for him to beat this challenge on his own terms.

This is a cool series, I think doing it without any add-ons isn’t a good idea. The game was made with the idea that you can use add-ons and they can use items. You are already at a huge disadvantage with needing all 4 dead to not lose the killer.

that is what I am saying. if I compare to HC survivor rules though it is kinda the same except for the 4k rule since most HC surv challenge usually have fresh accounts. the 4k rule though is brutal since hatch is a random chance thing you really didn't need to add to the difficulty. he has lost a couple killers to that factor alone.

The speed difference between the killer and Survivors is very minimal. Survivors have 20+ pallets, vaults, 3 other teammates and combined 16 perks vs 4... the speed argument makes no since to any experienced DBD player.

This is a fun series. 🙂 Couple of quick thoughts if you do it again next season - Don't count hatch escapes toward losing a killer. Counting the hatches is just forcing you to slug the last two survivors which you obviously don't like doing because you don't think it's fun. So just ignore hatch escapes and only eliminate a kill if a survivor gets out the gates. It'll make the challenge slightly easier but also make the matches more fun for you and make the endgame a little shorter which will cut out some of the duller parts of late stages of a match. - If after this season you feel comfortable making the challenge slightly easier, allow yourself to use add-ons. You can always impose a restriction on yourself what types of add-ons you're allowed to use to fine tune it as well (e.g. no red or purple add-ons allowed). The challenge as a whole is probably hard enough though where you could include some add-ons you enjoy for additional spice. - To mix up the variety a little more, instead of using the same perk loadout for every single killer, maybe try an Adept challenge where for each killer you use their three signature perks plus a fourth generic perk of your choice (e.g. Trapper would use Brutal Strength, Agitation, Unnerving Presence, and a fourth perk of your choice). It would be kind of a cool theme to try while also keeping the notion of limiting your choice of perks for the matches. Good luck on the rest of the challenge! 😄

an addition: just to add a bit of consistency, i think it would be interesting if the fourth perk had to be (optionally the same, since spooky apparently likes to torture himself) a generic perk, not a killer exclusive one. idk why it just seems like itd add a new level bc i dont see a lot of generic perks being used so i have to assume they arent that great (i dont play v often 😭)

Everyone is talking about his hatch rule, which is admittedly insane. But not enough people are talking about how he’s doing this on his high MMR main account! Just about every version of this I’ve seen has been on a brand new account so the first half of the games in the challenge are fairly easy. Honestly his hatch rule wouldn’t have even been as insane if he had started on a fresh account, especially with the semi separate MMRs of each killer. The man is a legend.

I'm coming back to this game as a killer main (I play survivor too, but I find the killer gameplay more diverse) after a long time of not playing. I'm glad to see bots finally being introduced, not just as a practice/training tool, but as a way to combat chronic rage disconnectors. It's not always as good as having an actual player in that slot, but it's better than being a man down. I have to say I also really like the idea of this challenge! Kicks the difficulty up a notch.

"Losing" games to hatch seems like too harsh of a restriction. Hatch only spawns when the survivors have essentially lost, so it doesn't make much sense to count a hatch escape as a loss for the challenge imo.

I'm a little surprised that you lost doctor that badly but Midwich is rough on him. Honestly I'm surprised you don't tend to go in between 2 survivors just to make sure you're on schedule with getting someone out in the time it takes for 3 gens to pop. The last person on hook will die regardless of whether it's their first or 3rd so it seems to me that saving yourself 2-3 hooks is a great thing.

I feel like you should implement a couple rule changes. one is to always use a hatch offering. so you don't need to slug. two is something that allows you to change builds. like maybe you can use the generic perks, the killer you are playing perks, and 1 borrowed perk from another killer. but they die with the killer and can't be used again. just for variety.

I'm not sure how exactly being slugged is any less interesting for a survivor than being on a hook and just dying. If they are slugged, hatch could spawn on them, and as long as you only do it on last 2, it's really not going to be that much time spent on the ground. Only other way I can think of to deal with last 2 consistently is to run something like alien instinct, and just make sure both are injured before you down and hook the other. Then you get a head start on going to the last.
