17:48 the sound effects are incredible feels like you are there at the race. Lemons aren’t necessarily old cars, they are models that are defected. Theres some new models even considered lemons. Most common tend to be like chevy cobalt, cadallic, theres some modern jeeps that can be considered lemons. There’s even a thing known as Lemon Law.

Yes boys! First of all I can't wait for your reaction for the 3rd film BUT ALSO now you got into this cars films I highly recommand the film RUSH. Not an animation but a film based on the true story and events abut the 70's of F1 races. Don't make any spoilers, just trust me😉👌

48:58 McQueen had no idea that a bomb had been planted on Mater, once Mater drove off and said to stay away from him McQueen believed Mater was still upset with him and had to avoid him. Not knowing that Mater was trying to save his best friends life before he explodes.

Character writing wise/mcqueens side: pretty well done, good lessons, if a tad simplidtic, nothing wrong with that though Spy action/maters side: the spy stuff is pretty fun, it forced the animators to get creative with cars having spy gadgetry, which is always fun, but it suffered in the writing department, with how mater is ignored when trying to explain what he is, varying degrees of luck throughout those segments, and characters pulling out the solution to whatever their problem is from thin air (gee, how lucky the spy with an electric taser was, a, tied in the perfect position to barely hit the controls for the clock, b, was facing the right direction in order to do said thing, c, they were set up in that specific way to die instead of something else, allowing the escape)(or how about a character needs to move extremely quickly, so they magically become a jet plane car out of nowhere, with no set up at all, and with a throwaway line to try and explain it away to cover the dissonance) All in all, an enjoyable film, that has extra action for the cost of writing elements Remember, being the worst of enjoyable movies in terms of writing still means youre an enjoyable movie And honestly, it speaks to the talent of the studios that this is considered their worst and it still has its great moments
