Harbaugh addressed this very question and reminded everyone that the Ravens had ONLY TWO offensive possessions in the 4th quarter and in both possessions the Ravens were playing from behind-- not a time to turn to the run game. This loss sucks the Ravens are 0-4 vs the Ravens this season. The team puts too much pressure on themselves when they play the steelers and the Cheifs. I hope we can turn it around this season. There are good things though, lets hope we can stay/get healthy for the playoffs, the defense can continue to improve, special teams can get fixed and we can fix the penalties

Some personnel changes (especially in the secondary) were much needed. Roquan's year has been disappointing vs.expectations and has affected overall defense's performance. Tucker has to find some confidence to improve his FG %. With all that said (and potentially fixed) the Ravens are still going nowhere if the incessant number of penalties is not eliminated. Really good football teams simply do not make the number of penalties/mistakes this team does.

No reason to panic but Harbaugh has to figure out why he has not been able to beat the Steelers with a team lead by Lamar. Must also acknowledge that beating the Steelers last Sunday would have been a major step toward controlling the division, but the Steelers clearly wanted it more than did the Ravens. Flock host discussed everything except the woeful performance by the offense. The offense looked like they were on automatic pilot rather than playing to take control. Patrick Queen played with a vengeance while the Ravens played like they were at practice. Why? Tomlin, it must be said, is a great coach.

One last point. Let us not over-rate Pit. They played a very conservative offensive game plan. Relying on 6 FGs. Similar to Ken Anderson and the Bengals in the early 70s. Now the Ravens have a great backfield. They should try these plays - Pro Right 8 Z Burst FB Protect, Pro Trips Bunch Right 37 Quick Toss, Pro Slot Left 34 Blast, Pro Right 55 Tailback Option amongst others. These are not use any more, but with their backfield - figure it out. Scope these plays out. It will add fuel to the fire and take pressure off of Lamar. If used correctly, DCs on the other team will not know whether to cry or wind their watch. Who gets the ball. They have the backfield for it and great for play action, as well. Scope them out.

I am sure no one thought that the Ravens would be 7 and 4 after 11 games. I thought at worst they would be 8 and 3. Now, the Ravens must be focused on their playoff ranking since they rank sixth in the AFC and 1.5 games behind Pit and that it appears that the division title is slip sliding away. I base this point on the schedules - PIT next 3 games Cle/Cin/Cle and Baltimore LAC, Phil, NYG Pit, Hou and Cle. I only list Pit next three games because what Pit and Baltimore do in these next three weeks could determine the division winner. Their fate so far has been based on losses to Cleveland and Las Vegas. Losing to Pit and KC is understandable. It should be interesting. The winner LAC and Baltimore will be Harbaugh. Hamilton and Washington are the answer at safeties. Mixing in more Wiggins and White at CB will help. Stephens has tight coverage but doesn’t turn his head or try to make a play for the ball. Offense will bounce back but the biggest concerns are the penalties and Tucker. We are #1 in the league with penalties by a mile and those are stalling drives. Tucker is going to be inconsistent for the rest of the year it seems. If we are beyond 45 yard attempt, Harbs better start going for it if it’s less than 4 yards

It definitely was an ugly loss to the Steelers, however I too felt like something was gained, of which was how well the defense played (particularly against the pass). We already know what the offense is capable of. If what they've found on defense is a permanent fix this team will be very hard to beat. Obviously there is concern about JT. Who would have ever thought that he would be a liability? It's hard to fathom. Hopefully he figures things out and returns to form or at least something close to it.
