My Grand parents are from Blaina, my Mother was born there, and my father from Abertillery, a short while away. Lovely place.

My mother and father and grandparents lived in Blaina and cymcellen before moving down to the south coast where I was born . Used to go back there regularly as a child and teenager and remember a lot of the places on here . Happy memories of the pond in cymcellen and mountains where we used to walk my uncles dog. English by birth but welsh blood

Blaina a great place to live, once a mining town now a small town nestling deep in the Valley with friendly local people and wonderful views. Not to mention it's only a short trip to the Brecon Beacons, an ideal place to visit.

Very well.put together video nice too see something that is highlighting all the positive aspects of Blaina instead of running it down and tarring it with negativity

I wonder how many residents have read the work of Blainas most famous son Frank Richards, miner, colonial soldier in India and 4 years in the WW1 trenches. Some men have a natural talent for writing ,it's a talent that transcends class boundaries, Frank had it, he made writing sound easy, a real talent.
