'Criminal' is no exaggeration of how the food industry puts harmful, toxic chemicals in our food. Our food choices, as you rightly suggest, are often driven by our taste buds. Nice reminder, Mindy. Thanks. This helps keep me on track with escaping the pleasure trap. This has to be conscious decision after conscious decision, until these choices become second nature.

What amazes me is there is no real lobby I’m aware of that’s standing up to fight against these toxins in our food and water. People complain, but don’t appear to be actively working against it.

Hi Dr Mindy 🎉 Just returned from the UK - Somerset, Wales, Scotland. Shocked by the difference in food quality & prices. I found food, taste like food; readable labels, non-synthetic ingredients! Even brought home a bottle of Heinz Ketchup to show my husband the “readable lable”😂 Ingredients: water, tomatoes, vinegar & salt. Now, check out your ‘American’ Heinz ketchup label🙃

No frankenfood. It was an issue with a leaky gut. I see it as a blessing that caused me to eat what nature provides.

This is my story too! I could not quit my adctn to sugar-grain carbs & they eventually took down my digestion but it was *only* way I could quit. I blame myself and even thank God for it - I'm getting impatient for healing but each time I start grumbling, I realize I'm creating long-lasting changes that I won't be going back on and getting back into my binging habits again or buying the stuff at the stores. I will always crave it but not what it did to me

Agree with all except fiber. My body has responded amazingly on carnivore for 5 months. I was literally taking up to 20 fiber pills a day for years before carn just to be able "go" every few days. Gave it up about 6 weeks in and have not needed it since. Discovered my culprit all these years was not enough potassium, not fiber!

Alzheimer's is a right of passage in my family it seems. But since developing chronic illnesses, I was forced to completely 180 my lifestyle and food. Organic, grass fed and no hormones ever for my food alongside fasting for different durations and spending as much time in nature as possible. Thank you so much for your channel and book(s). ❤

Fiber tip, basil seeds! Soak a couple tablespoons of seeds in water, store them in the fridge. Put a couple teaspoons in your smoothie, yogurt, whatever you want. That’s 15 grams of fiber right there. Use a couple times a day if you don’t get many other high fiber foods in. Yes, they look like tadpoles when soaked but they do the trick, don’t have much flavor to mess with what it goes in, and are not hard to get into your diet easily. They are also as good as chia without the lectin load that chia unfortunately has. If anyone is still having digestive issues after making the needed diet changes and you don’t know about lectins, look into them! Lectins can cause real and significant issues and are in a lot of foods considered to be safe for the gut. Dr Gundry is a great resource for this info.

@@debiwillis9045 As one who was vastly affected, what said stands. For those who already have a damaged gut, leaky gut, the gut lining already impaired, lectins can have a very big and damaging impact. Once the lining has recovered lectins may not be a problem. I struggle a lot before getting clued into lectins. Cutting them out, and now limited, has helped me heal my gut in ways I wasn’t able to previously.

Speaking as one who was greatly impacted by lectins, what I said stands. I struggled for years with continued gut problems even after addressing SIBO and the root causes, until I cut out lectins. For those who already have an impaired gut, lectins can wreak quite the havoc. Cutting them out can help to actually heal the gut lining so that you can get your a point where lectins are not so harmful. I now limit lectins but am able to tolerate them like I never could before when my gut lining was impaired. I’m passing this along in case it can help anyone else still struggling.

Eat the best wholefood you can, organic, grass fed, grass finished. Grass fed proteins and fats allows vitamin D3 to be aborbed by the body properly, instead of being calcified in the arteries.

My Hba1c has crept up to 5.7 and I told my Dr I'm concerned, and he flat out said that's totally healthy! So frustrating... my platelets are chronically low low (outside of range), but since I have no symptoms, then it's OK... I don't know what to do anymore, kinda feels pointless to even get a checkup!
