I was looking at this but went with retroid pocket 3 plus. Reviews said the Retroid 2 would struggle with some games but the one I got would have no problem. They say this isn't great for beginners to set up, I really got it as I wanted to play Shining Force 3, all 3 scenarios, but its only Saturn I have struggled with and even after buying the recommended emulator I still haven't got them to work perfectly, all the other systems run smooth. Really enjoy your content, you're really clear and informative, your like an idiots guide for that don't have a clue what we are doing 😂

I have the 3+ and I run every single Sega Saturn game at like 1080P with no problems. What emulator are you using? Im using yaba sanshiro 2 pro. Make sure you are using open GL and not Vulcan in the settings.

I have both the 2s and the 3+, and the both run almost everything I’ve tried identically and both struggle with the same specific gc, psp and ps2 games. Neither have any issues with any Saturn, n64 or DC games I’ve tried.

Street fighter on the Gameboy is like that because it draws the sprites on the background each frame to display full characters and the bandwidth isn't high enough for any faster.

Top 3: Analogue Pocket RG35XX Miyoo Mini Plus

@@MegaFinalRound pretty sure the Miyoo mini is underpowered now compared to all the new stuff like this. I heard one can even do Saturn and n64 nearly perfectly. The Analog pocket is a clear choice as well but it’s kind of a different beast. It’s doesn’t run emulators, of which there are many to choose from.

If you're looking for something under $100 the miyoo mini plus is still a good pick, you're not going to find huge performance gains at that price. Next step up would be something with a T618 chip like the retroid pocket 3+, or anbernic rg405m / 405v. Beyond that is the AYN Odin but they're about to release the Odin 2 in December and that thing is going to be a beast at $300. If you want to go even farther up in price you're looking at the Steam Deck and stuff like that.

​@@BrunoHasBeenShotIt does ok with a good amount of them, but mostly just at 1x resolution and usually there's some tweaks involved. There's a compatability list floating around out there and for PS2 it says 30% of games play perfect, 35% great, and another 20% as just "playable" so if you're wondering about specific games it would be worth looking up beforehand.

This is a really cool device. Comfortable form factor (wide is always better for adult hands), no games included (first of all it's illegal, secondly it's always just full of crap), correct screen size, looks like decent performance, and best of all it's not gonna get snatched up by scalpers in 2 minutes.

It'd be amazing if Analogue offered a horizontal form-factor version of the Pocket with more functional shoulder buttons and a nicer d-pad. These other handhelds are looking like a far better value proposition if FPGA and real cartridges aren't important to you.

Kind of hard to compare this to analogue pocket when its not using fbga with cartridge/everdrive support, looks more in line with the other emulation devices

Yeah, my RGB30 has become my most used console over the last two weeks. The screen is fantastic, and I've been revisiting the GameBoy and GameBoy Color libraries.

Lol You can't really compare them. I bought a rg351 and not an analogue as my first handheld, and I debated both. The analogue is more niche, more sophisticated, and I didn't really need it. I just wanted a vertical handheld with a arm cpu that would let me play psx games. I do like the custom colors on the new analogue pockets. They say adding a little bit of color to your world helps your wellbeing.

I'm sure I can't be the first to think of this, but if they can make these things with the additional capability of casting to your smart TV, that'd be a game changer! I'm guessing there must be some sort of barrier, like the current tech would still lag or something(?)

@@ProbablyRicky You actually can use a mini hdmi plug and pop it in that way. It's not quite casting but it's very cool. Note that I have a Retroid Pocket 3+ so I can't 100% guarantee that this model has it.

Question for you MLP and anyone else that reads this message. Should I get the Anberic RG405 V or the Retroid Pocket 3+ I’m primarily looking for a system that will play original PlayStation Games so that I can replay the Lunar series as well as the other heavy hitters from working designs. I would be content with being able to play any system up to PS1.

Both those systems are way more powerful than what you need. If all you want to play is PlayStation and lower then you could definitely go with something cheaper and save some money. But if you’re choosing out of those two, I would go with the Retroid pocket 3+ because the 405 has screen sharpening problems.

Touch screen, it changes the game for better. This handheld is super small and fits everywhere. I recommend it if your goal is to stop emulating at dreamcast.
