Strongest defensive era? You could argue that defenders were more reckless in that era. As where today, an offensive player can initiate contact to draw a foul.

I appreciate the fact that at some point in the 2000s you grew up watching LeBron James. I like to watch him too. I'm a Canadian man from Ontario and I was born in February 1978. I grew up watching Larry, Magic, Kobe, Barkley (who we saw get dunked on by MJ) and of course my favourite of them all - MICHAEL JORDAN. He had the best moves and he literally could fly through the air. No player can duplicate what he does. For the highest points per game in a season, MJ won that award 10 times, and surprisingly LeBron just once. MJ's all-time Reg Season ppg is 30.1 and LeBron 27.2. Championships and Finals MVPs go to Michael 6-4. Michael only played in 13 seasons with the Bulls and 2 with the Wizards. MJ has a 33.4 ppg in the playoffs and LeBron has 28.5

Great reaction Jerami Grant Jr. Magic is my favorite baller all-time and the reason I fell in love with the sport in 1979 but without hesitance I proclaim MJ to be the GOAT, and in my opinion it's not even close. And I've seen young/prime MJ play in person a few times and have done same with Bron. MJ had the faster twitching muscle fibers which granted him the superior reflexes, hand-eye coordination, bounce, hang-time, mid-air body control, aerial agility, quickness, explosiveness, etc. MJ also had better fundamentals and that's why his footwork is extremely better than Bron's. When it comes to footwork, Bron is cadaver-like. And MJ had the maniacal mental of killers in serial. Bron's mental is Monistat vaginal. I find it a little comical that you're ridiculing the defense when today's defense is played with same intensity of All-Star games. You're not realizing just how quick MJ was - off dribble or jab-step. He had the defenders shook. So much so that any little twitch and they bit. They were also nervous of getting embarrassed. That game winner vs Atlanta when he had ball at top of the key, the help defender thought MJ was going to pull there, which he was, but once MJ saw him make move to double him he went right. MJ mastered the art of spacing and getting defenders off balance. He just needed a little to get his shot off. And on the other one where he spun around defender and went baseline. The defender couldn't react quick enough to MJ's spin. Again, once MJ saw help coming he went opposite way. You just have no idea how jaguar-like MJ was unless you saw him in person. He was so quick that he was dubbed Black Cat. Kobe once said that watching him on TV and then him doing that spin move live it's two very different things. You're 100% right about the GOAT coming down to opinions. And the vast majority of them have MJ as the GOAT. Way more hall-of-famers have him as the GOAT over Bron. Today's best (Curry, Durant, K. Leonard, Tatum, Doncic, Lillard, Zion, Edwards, Harden, Butler, LaVine, Ingram, Mitchell) view him as the GOAT. The NBA had a poll earlier this year on the GOAT and MJ doubled Bron in votes. A whole bunch of Bron's teammates (Wade, Ray Allen, Kyrie, AD, Westbrook, Haslem, Eddie House, Chalmers, Stackhouse, Brendan Haywood and Larry Hughes) view MJ as GOAT. Even the pretty lady (Jeanie Buss) who pays Bron his immense salary has MJ as the GOAT. And without reading any comments here, I can guarantee you that the majority will also have MJ as the GOAT.

Maybe the most stunned I’ve ever been watching an MJ reaction is after that Bill Lambier 360 layup when you say “Some players be flashy just to be flashy but it’s unnecessary…… and that was unnecessary, he could have just laid it up.” I’m not sure if it’s cause we were watching different plays or maybe bc you’re not hip to the history of “The Jordan Rules” (Bill Lambier especially) but that play is immortalized precisely bc it was Jordan solving another piece of the Detroit puzzle by getting the bucket and somehow avoiding any real contact instead of simply “going straight up to lay it in,” getting cracked by Lambier, then cracked by the hardwood and getting his free throws, which was the typical default outcome of plays like that in these matchups. I’ll find the great (and short, so also great for reactions) documentary on the Jordan Rules and post the link for you

About the defense, yes, sometimes they did give up on the play. Fact is, Jordan was virtually automatic from some places on the floor, and he had the body control to absorb contact and still make the bucket. It really just got to the point where you to decide to risk the and 1 and momentum shifts they can inspire, or let him have a less impactful two.

There is no disrespect in stating the obvious, Jordan is and always will be the greatest . I mean two three peats in a row and the only reason that the Bulls didn't win in a row is because one year he went to play baseball and the second year he came back and used it as a warm-up for his three people the next three years after If at all there was a player who could justify or even top the moniker 'His Airness', it is Michael Jordan. Jordan tops our list of players with the highest vertical leap of 48 inches. This to go along with a hangtime of 0.92 seconds

This is why understanding the context is important and just watching highlights videos is insufficient unless you do your homework You’re wrong on that play at 14:35 mark He wasnt just trying to be flashy On that play against Bill Laimbeer Watch it again The pistons were dirty and if you see Laimbeer he was just trying to foul him by pushing him hard in the air Jordan was smart with that move as he spun away from the contact in the air for the points and the possible harmful Contact

It’s no disrespect, being the “TRUE” goat. I respect your opinion. HOWEVER, facts are facts and Michael Jordan is a fact, not an opinion. I’m old enough to have seen both throughout their Entire careers, and LeBron isn’t even close. Plus Mike never had to promote himself like LeBron, the players and fans did that. Mike never needed to pay announcers to hype him up OR send emails to have people vote for him for MVP. The bottom line is, if you “KNOW” you’re the greatest, you don’t need to send emails out, your play should speak for itself. LeBron has been chasing greatness. Mike’s greatness his ENTIRE career. Mike only chased winning.

Here are selected the phases where he fooled the defense. He couldn't pass every time. Many of these highlights are against the best teams. Interestingly, he managed to pass with greater probability if the situation in the match demanded it! He managed to get past defenses even at 38-40 when he played for the Wizards. There is a minute-by-minute comparison on KZbin between Jordan and Lebron's matches, both when they were 38 years old, with Charlotte. In 2001-2002, there was a stronger defense (than today) and the attacker had to run and work much harder. There is no comparison.
