George Benson is amazing. I think he is definitely one of the top cool jazz guitarists. I have never heard a George Benson song that I haven't liked. I think this would be a really great rabbit hole! Like so many of the true artists, his style is often copied but he was an original. His music is like a cool fresh breeze. If you ever get a chance go watch the official video for this song. It is a hoot. He captures the vibe of night on the town in Los Angeles perfectly!. Its fun to watch him play as he inline skates around Venice Beach. Its a really happy video.

Wow this just sounds as good as when i first heard this back in 1980 i was just 14 my brother played this to death he was older than me by six years im in the uk and George benson was just a great soul singer from the us who rocked my youth me and my friend used to play this to death he was cool just remember the hor long summer of 1980 we lived just outside of london in the suburbs we just loved this track playing it in the hot sun just chillin back then great memories for me i will always treasure this great song from them times and believe me they were great innocent moments that u keep inside just reminds me of my poor old dad sitting on our wall outsie of our house in the summer listening to songs like this i would be sitting with him enjoying this great music sadly my dads passed on now but whenever i hear great pop or soul classics like these u cant beat that great times wish i had a time machine cool

OMG... people!! Back in 1980, as a 13 yr. old poor white little girl, I signed up for a Columbia House music account for ONE PENNY. (you literally had to tape a penny to the return, postage paid card back then. (Cassettes were new, back in the day, even though I was still buying vinyls with my babysitting money 😁) This album was my VERY first one/purchase. I LOVE every song on this album & have been a huge fan of George ever since!! He is part of my childhood. 🥰

George Benson is amazing. He can do it all: Vocals, Guitar, Scatting, Jazz/Pop. A great musician. Masquerade, his remake of "On Broadway" and "Turn Your Love Around" besides this one were some his biggest radio hits but he's well known for his Jazz Festivals and playing that circuit as a phenomenal guitartist/vocalist/musician.

I would classify this as jazz with those scatting runs in the background. Then there is that bass vocal that brings the feeling of 50's Doowop. The 70s was fascinated with all things 50s. Each generation looks back on the previous, especially the art. And, now I want to go dancing with my husband.
