Thanks for another great video Brian. It was interesting and enjoyable. Hauling grain. Very time consuming job on the farm and at the elevator. Just one of those things. You and Jim were lucky that the elevators were not Busy today. Remember hauling with the wagons, on my the memories. You have quite the bin setup. Massive set of controls you have at your bin site. Lot to remember there. The stripper and tractor just about did not fit in the building. Wow. Power drill and your wrist. Dangerous situation. If you turn the speed up just one notch it slows the thrust down and helps then if it catch’s. Otherwise get a handle to hold on tool or use a drill press. I felt BJ’s wrist on that one. Ouch!!!!!!! Hope his wrist is ok. How did dad’s birthday party go????? Lots of guests. Your dad seemed a bit annoyed BUT I bet he enjoyed every minute of it. Yeah!!!!! Nice radio BJ has for the JD tractor. Has lots of power output. Neat. About it I guess. Thanks for everything Brian. You all take care and be safe. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.

The HF step drill bits are great for reaming out holes without the twisting of regular bits. You just need to be careful about when to stop. A piece of hose clamped above the desired size works well. Great video!

Hey BJ, an old trick is to put a piece of hardwood behind the metal to stop the drill bit grabbing.

Anyone in Southern Indiana? Our area has had some very bad luck with grain bin rescues over last few weeks. This after last year being a very hard and tough year for my family with a death involving a grain bin and quite a few more in our area. Make sure to let someone know where he at and what ur doing at all times on the farm. And practice grain bin safety

With your in-floor heating system, what happens if you have an extended power outage? I would worry about freezing in the tubing in the concrete floor. A small generator would probably be sufficient to keep the furnace running. It would probably take a multi-day outage with below zero temperature to have problems. Does antifreeze solution in the tubing cause problems?

Good morning folks! I appreciate the fact that this Family is Genuinely real with the workings of a farm. Unfortunately, The Farm family in Minnesota that I started following since they started has totally shown that they are fake as can be. The Browns are By farm more Relatable.

BJ, use high speed in the gear box, and less speed on the trigger, it won’t be so hard on your wrist, or your drill bits.
@brianwilton85553 ай бұрын
great video
@patrickgroenewegen3 ай бұрын
Use the drill in the second gear/speed range. It’ll have less torque to snap your wrists off. Just use the trigger to not over speed and burn up the bit. But on small holes, odds are the speed won’t be too high unless you are drilling hardened or stainless materials.

I wouldn’t worry too much about much about shrink on over 15% corn unless they are excessive on drying charges. If you haul in 14% corn you lost 11.5 bu. For being to dry.

Yeah, in-floor heat = thermal mass and therefore more resistance to transient temperature changes. Used to work in a greenhouse operation where we had acres of in-floor heat, it made life a lot easier.
