Never met Dylan. Never saw him in person. Never heard his friends talk about him in real life. But I've never been so inspired by one person in my life. I've seen this video once or twice a year since it came out, and it's in my opinion the best portrayal of Dylan on the internet. The last scene with the empty chair hits home every time. Thank you desillusion.

I had quit skateboarding long before i ever heard of him. Coming from someone who knows the roots of skating he is an important part of our industry. A rebellious and individualistic person he will always be remembered.

his body's gone, he's physically not here anymore, but he's still in here, mind & heart, for sure in every fucking heart this week and for ever. that strength. some real pure beauty make everybody's thinking, remembering, and thinking again. so sad but so grateful. Peace out. Love and freedom.

For many times i was feeling down with my ability to skate and my dreams of making a career out of it. I want to make my hobby a job, not force my job to be a hobby. Every time i feel like giving up on skating i always come to any Dylan video and how he inspired my dressing style to attitude to skate style, this man is truly something else and im so lucky to have found out about him.
@Bryan-kl5rr4 жыл бұрын
I read your comment and very rarely do i feel like i can connect or relate to somebody else.. But i feel ya man. Been searching for myself for a few years now and the only constant seems to be skating, even though i still suck at it. Hope you find your way and all is well my friend 👍

He was so right about what he said about Billie doing a trick down the stairs. Especially in this day and age with all these Instagram clips, I don't care if I don't like the style or something about the person. These days, I have a filter on my head, where I only watch things that I know they make me feel good. Sometimes when I feel fucking nasty, I go home and put on Trasher or the Berrics and want to watch some shit and an half hour later I feel so terrible and ask myself: "Why the fuck am I even involved in skating?" I don't wanna get depressed so I only watch very selected stuff. And you should roll how you want and wear what you want and not because something is trending. Even if people don't like it, fuck them!
@ZZZ-09994 жыл бұрын
That's right, the trending is a killer! Just be yourself, do what you want to do and doesn't care about what the people say!

I don’t skate anymore, but growing up I wanted to be like Dylan so bad. I grew my hair out once I left the army and slick it back like him as an homage, and I can’t seem to throw away the pair of Dylan Slip-Ons I have from HUF. I’ve worn them for 7 years now and they are beat to shit, but I won’t toss em.

First person I've seen make skating so stylish, he will forever be the coolest, and he never had many parts either (not as much as the people becoming pros today) but his influence style wise and all his side projects (Former, The Hunt) will live forever, which is what I find sick, he made such an impact skating and yet it's what he did outside skateboarding that will leave such a lasting impact ON TOP of his skating, he's left a legacy, in such short time, and it's so cool, RIP one of the absolute greatest

@@RollingShutter this actually originally came out in 2012 on Vimeo. But they reposted this here a couple of years later. I remember specifically rushing back home from work to watch this during that time haha. So Loweni is right about the eerie foreshadowing since cancer wasn't even a thought at that time.

I did windsurfing before, but was not interested in skateboarding.However, I came to be interested in skating after I knew Dylan. It seemed that he wore a white shirt, black slip on to black jeans not so called skater fashion very very cool. When I came to have some skateboarding ,I knew that Dylan died and was amazed. Is it a lie? Is it 28years old? I promised to do everything hard until his minutes though it was a shock. Dylan forever !! You were the coolest in the world. Thank you for giving a skating opportunity.
