Love that you GOT this. BTW Maria on vocals was a piano player brought in to play rhythm and ended up taking on the role of lead singer and lyricist

Yes, The Sixsters are another incredibly talented young band!!! All great instrumentalists, wonderful harmonies, lead vocalist Maria has a gorgeous voice and also plays guitar. Have made some very creative fun mvs! And some that are achingly beautiful and emotional. Check out the mvs on their brand new song I Stare at You along with Seem to Dance and I'm Gonna Be. Fled Ukraine and now live in Germany. Have raised funds for humanitarian purposes in Ukraine so not just good musicians, good people too. Great reaction, more The Sixsters please!!! 🙌 🔥🤘🏻

For people who doubt whether The Sixsters sound as good in person as on the album, I refer them to the 2021 live version of Monday (in Ukrainian). Maria wasn't singing lead at that time, but it shows the huge wall of sound they can create live when they want to. Hopefully we'll get a well-mixed live performance this year!

You think this is good? Wait until you hear their new album coming out on March 1. They played some of the new material during their Christmas live stream last year, and this album will be epic. I for one can't wait to hear it.

Might be falling a bit in love with the composer on those keys. Dunno if it's the young lady playing or someone on the team or what, but it really works for me. The heightened reality / stop motion aesthetic of the visuals combined with solid steady instrumentation and broken up so creatively! A little Tim Burton, a little Peter Gabriel visual influence, a through line of ... I don't know how to say it.. There always seems to me to be some piece of the tools at their disposal that are being used as a foundation, allowing other bits and bobs to stretch and flex. @thesixtsters 2/2 from me, TY @markabusi and whomever might have recommended it.

I like you loved this Mark. I kind of imagine that the make up & aesthetic was not stage dressing but how these ladies actually are although obviously I don't know. My local pub does a quiz Mondays and there is a team of 4-5 girls and one lucky guy that have the same style, and those ladies are just going to the pub for a quiz, so I guess its kind of how they are all the time? if that is the case then power to them for being them & yes the song is really great. Wah pedal and a Hammond organ sound - brilliant choices.

This is actually kind of a one-off, so they don't dress like that in other videos. You can find them in dressing gowns, dressed up like dolls, in blown up "fat girl" suits, and just their beautiful selves in ballads and bangers.

Their compositions remind me of the Beatles in a couple of ways. First, you never know what they're going to do next, they absorb everything around them and then create something fresh and genre-bending. Second is the way they compose. It isn't like so many bands where everybody's playing at once and crowding the mix. They are deliberate with each piece they add, a little guitar strum here to accentuate a part and then it stops, vocal harmonies not throughout, but placed strategically, a scream here and there, "woofing" in parts, stripping it all down to bass and a vocal, giving the vocal room to breathe, knowing exactly when to add the next hook to draw you deeper into the song. They are doing this as teenagers. They are going to be a musical force to be reckoned with.

Think what dedicated musicians.Displaced to a foreign country so cut a new album & now another.While keeping up with school and five sets of parents.German,English,Ukrainian Languages.The drummer Katya was on hit like a girl @9, Marie sings rhythm guitar piano Anya lead guitar piano (started with classical piano & guitar) Polina bass & Sofia keys live 2 hrs away can only get there once a week usually. I just heard them for the first time yesterday and immediately fell in love with their music. All I can say after hearing several songs in their catalog is... wow... This band needs support, so please go give them some love, things have been so hard for them, and they push on making beautiful music. I hope you will try others. A couple of my favorites are Fever and For Us For Me. Fever is a banger that doesn't let up, and For Us For Me starts as a ballad with hints of Amy Winehouse, and breaks out rocking at the end. I don't think I have ever said this about a song before, but I think the keyboard is what pushed it over the top for me. I especially loved the changeup in the middle. Didn't care for the actual video as I found the jerkyness and makeup distracting from the song. Won't stop me from checking out more.

It was filmed in 1/2 motion to get the jerky effect (there's a behind the scenes video of them making it). You'll find this song is kind of a one-off, the other songs they do are completely different, and all are awesome. :)
