I highly recommend watching Heike Monogatari as well. The characters momentarily mention the Heike during episode one of Elusive Samurai. The story of the Heike (true story) takes place about 100-150 years before this show’s time period. The date that the story was first recorded is unknown other than it occurred before 1330.

Unless you're a manga reader then nothing could have prepared you that transition at 12:31-12:34, not only that but also that whole scene at 15:52, especially that one MF who had 3 heads on his swords. Succsessor of Hojo clan never got be Shogun, It's Shikken, the title of Kamakura Shugunate of Hojo's. The Emperor title was used to be puppet for long time by Shogun. But Shogun title was puppet by Shikken of Hojo clan. Finally Shikken like Tokiyuki's father got to be puppet by their servant. The Ambisious Emperor Godaigo was boring puppet show, and he wanted to be a real ruler. His dream effected to Takajuji awake Muromach shugunate plannig. It was the trigger of chaotic tragedy.

Story is based around Minamoto no Yoshitsune (aka Ushiwaka-maru) from The Tale of Heike. Taking time in the Kamakura Period of Japan. One of my most favorite Japanese historical figures ☺️

Hōjō Tokiyuki was a real guy and was the de-facto ruler of the Kamakura shogunate who fought against Takauji as the show’s premise sets up. However online it seems people say he was a pretty obscure minor historical figure. But it still says it is loosely based on him and not on Yoshitsune.

For a person who learned Japanese history in school, it's textbook knowledge that the Reign of Takauji Ashikaga (Muromahi Bakufu) lasted from 1333 to 1573 and dominated the entire Japan during that time... So, if this anime goes on in accordance with the true history, we know this boy won't make it lol. I hope this anime goes differently from the history

@@LegitLord2000 yeah you're right. tower of god and oshi no ko. people are recognizing wistoria and the elusive samurai. next season we'll get blue lock, bleach, and dandadan which i haven't read. people would def be watching these 3 next season for me i'm watching all anime that are airing rn whether they are trash or good. that's what i do every season lol
