My computer is 13 years old. I've had to replace every fan in it multiple times over, except for my Noctua CPU fans, which remain silent at 100%, and still cool effectively at 40%. I am very glad to see that they continue to prioritize longevity in their products. 🤎

You need to try a server grade fan then. Those can last 20 years easily for home usage. I still think Nidec GT and Phanteks T30 (which uses server grade Sunon motors and bearings) are more durable.

@@panzer3279 Problem with server fans is that they tick very loudly at "low" speed under PWM control, and low speed isn't that low. Although, with modern motherboards every header is capable of DC or PWM control, and DC solves the ticking and probably the high minimum speed (with sufficiently clever software).

LCP fans are pretty dang heavy and sturdy you could probably hurt someone with it. If Noctua ever released a 3000rpm 14cm LCP fan, God knows what kind of motor they need to put in there to handle the torque

Has to be a 3-phase motor with 6 poles. They'll have to source the motors from Nidec/Sanyo Denki/Sunon/Delta.

Weight doesn't affect torque once the fan is up to speed. Heavier impellers will have less RPM agility, although I can't think of any reason that would matter.

Color has a big impact on the structural stability of a polymer. So it's a more chemical issue, that has to be solved. Once you have perfected you design for the main color, you kinda have to work all over again when you change colors.

Not the point I was making All of those AM5 accessories are nice, but what are the actual gains over a current NHd15 over a 13900k, where an offset doesn't come into play? Is it still 4-5°? Can it keep a 13900k under 95°c under a rendering load for ~2 hours without throttling, or with how much throttling? Because they spent so much time highlighting AM5 it makes me have to consider that they're not capable of cooling off a 13900k under full load without significant throttling, just as the current model fails to do so Which would be a shame, as it would basically mean we're still stuck with AIOs and custom loops to cool off 13th and most likely 14th gen Intel CPUs
