Some of the calves at the beginning are just so cute. My aunt used to have cows and they often walked round for hours with a head sticking out the back. Perhaps it depends on the breed.

Hi Neline, it's good you are feeling better considering the cold weather and snow is still there. The chores dont stop at the dairy and the new calves always look so good and hungry. I have always wondered how goat or sheep farmers cope without a handling machine to trim their feet. It sounds like you got a good deal and it should help with your growing goat heard feet. Glad you are feeling better. Some of the patterns of the calves are gorgeous. So glad you got the trimming chute it will be so much easier for you also go to sheepishly me she uses a pair of battery operated cutters for her sheep's feet. They are quite expensive. But by the time you have your big herd you will want & need them I'm pretty sure.

Jan has been on holidays where the weather was warmer. Jan has returned to Saskatchewan just in time to experience a good snow storm & was part of a recent posting video demoing a new tele-handler on Austin's "Full Line Austin" You Tube Channel. We will most likely see Jan post some new videos on his "SaskDutch Kid" channel once he gets a break from snow removal and fresh bedding for the dairy herd.
