I am going to pin this to the top. To those upset - I will still be providing the information I always have! I still want to share and teach but there is a lot behind the scenes that happens with a channel. I ask for grace and patience as I work things out without sacrificing my own well being to provide for others. To those unsubscribing, just know it's really mean spirited and hurtful to do this to someone who works very hard to entertain, educate and help as many people as I possibly can. I am a human being with feelings and I think so many forget that.

Not me! I may be broke and not subscribe to her extra channel but have you ever tried to start a channel on KZbin? It takes hours and hours (8+) to edit, produce and put out a video, much less the length of her videos. How can one possibly run a business out of a car? I don’t have the money for groceries or my car payment or anything. I feel ya. Just what is the recap doing for you?

I believe that your doing a disservice to those who have been loyal to you because your listening to outsiders and not to those that have been supportive of you for years. They feel like you’ve pulled out the rug. While you say you have to take care of yourself first, your rebuking the people that have been loyal to you. Because they are hurt and angry, instead of listening to them, your calling them haters. The same people that have supported you, you are calling them names. They are the ones that have helped put the food on your table and gas in your car. You can do and will do what you want with your own business. That’s your right. But I think many of your supporters have spoken here and you’ve not heard them. Everyone is going thru tough times financially. Your error here was your method and approach. It was the second time you removed something that brought people joy, (watching bougie was the other) and decided to charge them for it, for whatever reason. Obviously they expressed that they were unhappy and many are done. Instead of listening you Called them names, haters. I’m sorry but it’s not how you treat people that have supported you. Just because people disagree with the way you do things doesn’t mean they hate you, it means they don’t agree with the way your doing things. It’s called criticism. It can be objective or subjective. The way a person responds to it can make or break them. All people see here is that your going to be making $12 a person that wants to see what you’ve been showing them for years now. $12 x say 10,000 people one 1/10 of your followers is $120,000 a year. To some that’s a lot of money. Add in KZbin monthly fees and your sales, that’s a whole lot of money. Right now all they see is that you keep asking for more. I don’t think these people are haters I think they’ve just become disillusioned and tired of all the changes. Don’t bite the hand that feeds you.

@@Jebbyfur61 I do agree with what you're saying but I have thoroughly looked into how much money KZbinrs make, and how they make it. KZbin gets 30% of what they give for views and subscribers, then taxes on top of income so that takes more out of the pot. Then there is hiring people to do your editing which isn't cheap and it takes a very long time for someone to become big enough on KZbin so that they can make decent money. On the other side of the coin I agree with you because Danni did get all these subscribers by asking them to subscribe freely, she gave them content and now she's taking it away. That's a choice. A lot of people can't afford the extras as you said We already pay for KZbin and she's not the only content creator that a lot of people pay for. The extras add up. You have to decide who is worthy of what you can afford. I'm split down the middle because I'm very bummed out about not seeing the recap and other fun videos that she does and yet I love Danni's content. I don't like the way she has called people haters either but some people have been very hateful in their comments. There's no need to speak that way if you've been enjoying her content all along. If you're going to leave then silently leave why hurt her feelings while doing so? I don't know if she's made it bad decision or not it could be that she has. Or maybe this decision will take her closer to her goals. Time will tell. I only wish her the best of luck. I've always enjoyed her channel. She shares a lot of her life with her animals and her family which I've always enjoyed. We've seen her make some mistakes along the way yes, but she's recovered and we always cheer her on when she recoups. As I said I only wish her the best of luck and hope she made the right decision for her.

There is a misunderstanding as to what is happening! I am not stopping all the information! I just can't put the same format in the videos because while you are seeing many people comment and yes I've lost some subscribers - the numbers tell the true story - numbers no one but those who help manage my channel see. I'm not trying to hurt anyone or take more money! I saw it as a win win honestly as I could have just stopped the recap altogether but didn't want to do that so included it in the lowest section of membership possible - when I put things there it doesn't affect the main algorithm. I call the ones being nasty to me haters - there is a difference between someone who says they are disappointed and someone who calls me greedy or a money grabber as many are doing. I don't have thousands of members of the Niche Nation, I have a couple hundred - at $2 per month and with KZbin taking a huge percentage that is not a lot of money in my pocket for the hours of extra work it takes to provide the information - but I want to do it! I will have to wait and see what happens because the numbers will tell the story.

Hi Danni, I see that you have commented that you don't understand why people are "not understanding" that the recap info will still be in your free videos just in a different format. To me, it's because that is not what you relayed in your video. You said the recap would be moving to your $2.00 per month paid membership channel because it's not working with the KZbin algorithm. You didn't say anything at all that the recap info would still remain in your free videos just in a different format. That is why IMO you have this fallout. And to be completely transparent with you, it seems to me based on some of your initial comment responses, that you were not planning on still including recap amounts in your free videos until people started to say they were unsubscribing. I don't think you realized how important the recaps are to your viewers until now. Then you are telling people that they are misunderstanding or they don't understand which isn't fair. Almost comes across as gas lighting. People understood correctly, it was how you relayed the announcement in your video that was flawed. I plan to still watch your free videos because you do provide useful and entertaining content, which I hope will still include the recaps in a new format, as you have referenced. I just won't pay for content regardless of the content creator.

@@TheNICHELady Perhaps if you had edited/presented this video in the format you say you will be using going forward (showing your asking price/value on the screen with each item you pick up), instead of the hit and miss as you did in this one, it would have been better “understood” when you announced at the end that you’re moving the recaps to paid subscription. Instead, we saw the same familiar format all the way to the end, where you dropped the bombshell. Also - if you would have presented the paid subscription option as something you needed to do in order to continue making a living and paying your bills (instead of focusing on utube analytics), I think your supporters may have still been a bit upset, but would still “understand”.

Hi Danni, I’m not a reseller just a thrifty mom. The best part of your videos ARE the recaps! I don’t understand why people don’t watch to the end! If you incorporate the recap throughout the video as you are thrifting, that is fine. Another youtuber reseller I watch throws up on screen the value of the item but doesn’t name the item. I like knowing what the item is, i.e. Fenton or Haeger. I think your style of recap is better than the other youtubers (resellers) I watch. Your information is obviously spot on. Their info is off and/or misleading sometimes. I will stay subscribed and will watch and decide at a later time. I have done this to at least 3 or 4 other youtubers (resellers) and have stopped watching them altogether so the next step may be unsubscribing them. Your advisors have done you wrong. You should have tried out different formats first before dumping the info on us, the viewers. You could have gotten feedback from your viewers if we liked the new format by asking us to comment at the end if we liked the new video format. Anyway, take care and hope you change your format to something all viewers can enjoy. We’re not all resellers, but we, regular people, want to be educated consumers. Also, I can only speak for myself as a regular thrifter, but I can’t afford to spend on memberships when I just need to save money.

This is the only thrifting channel I watch partly because of the vicarious thrill of finding out the value of the items you find. Irregardless of your personality if it is just going to be like every other channel then there is little else to stimulate loyalty.

KZbin cares about how long a viewer watches a video - KZbin makes decisions on promoting videos to a new audience based on the analytics of those videos. A channel must continue to bring in new viewers or it will die. This is any business you need new customers/clients due to something called an attrition rate. I was not trying to grow the membership any more than I normally do, I simply was trying to find a way to still provide that information for people thinking the people who cared most were other resellers.

Dani, please reconsider. Some of us watch your videos (and I can’t be the only one) just for the fun of the treasure hunt. Especially late at night when I can’t sleep. I am not a resaler. I have no desire to be a resaler. And yes, you provide lots of lessons for those that do want to resale. But asking people to pay to find out the ending of the hunt is just too much. Even if it is a couple of bucks a month.

So if people are most worried about the values then I would hope they would simply ask me to do that instead of calling me names and announcing they are unsubscribing. The saying my Mom used to say to me when I was a kid came to mind when I was reading some of the comments people have wrote to you. What she would say is..... Yes Honey you might lose some people but you know you thought long & hard on this decision sooo stick to your guns...you'll get new subscribers & members. You're right. Many people don't think of all the work you do to get your content out. Noah does a lot of work getting content ready, and you send out photos of items to have a company put them in your online stores. You put items on eBay, you do research, etc. Too bad some people are quick to unsubscribe before the dust clears. I like your idea of saying the price when decide to buy an item. Danni, I think that when people are talking about unsubscribing over the change in format by you opting to take away the current form of the recap, and you respond with: "So all I brought to you was a recap?"- I think the people are feeling that the RECAP was the "SUCCESS OF THE TREASURE HUNT" and by eliminating it, "THE CLIMAX OF THE TREASURE HUNT IS MISSING." You say you are considering to just "tag the resale value on as you find the item on the shelf," - this will lose the JOY AND SPIRIT OF THE TREASURE HUNT which viewers look forward to at the END OF THE EPISODE! It will just leave the viewers feeling that the new format: tagging value as you find it on the shelf - would certainly be anti-climactical and your viewers will drift away and unsubscribe! In essence, it is like removing the last chapter of a wonderful book! (Just sharing my thoughts!)

That is not fair, if a channel goes stagnant in growth then a content creator can no longer afford to put the time into creating that content. In business you have to look at the data, test new things and do what it takes to survive in a pretty brutal world of self employment! My motive in putting the recap in the member section was one of considering people's emotions and not wanting to completely do away with it. My heart is always in giving and serving, I think most understand that if they have been watching me any amount of time.

The way it was presented felt like you were forcing people to pay if they wanted to see the values. How is it helpimg your channel to lose all these people who have supported you for years. Another KZbinr mentioned that you tube was forcing them or strongly encouraging them to have a place on their channel to charge money for content. I’m not sure if the KZbinrs are allowed to talk about it, but yes it seems possible that they are getting pressure from KZbin to charge their viewers for something…..not sure if KZbin gets some of the money or not…..please don’t be so hurtful, and disappointed in Danni! She has only the best intentions and she just trying to make a living…and balance what KZbin requires for her channel. I was going to make another comment about your auto reply. Someone else beat me to it, but when the first thing that you say to almost everyone automatically is you don’t understand, Sometimes it really rubs people the wrong way. Your personality is what brings people to your channel and makes them loyal and keeps them subscribed. I know you know this, but I will tell you that there was another reseller that I started to watch and she has wonderful thrifting videos, but I can’t stand her personality (it’s spiky) so I unsubscribed. You can’t make people feel like they’re too dumb to understand what you’re saying as the first thing you say in an explanation. I agreed with some peoples comments, but others I thought were hurtful and uncalled for. But you can’t lower yourself to their level especially when this is your bread and butter. I have always rooted for you and loved your content. I did voice my opinion and say I was really bummed out, and I also made another opinion saying why don’t you reconfigure your videos and do it the same way the other reseller does with your recaps included in each item you put in your cart? I don’t know if that’s a solution or not it was just a suggestion. Anyway, those are just my thoughts. I hope whatever you decide works out for you. You can’t really blame people though in this day and age they feel like so much of what they felt was always solid, has been pulled out from underneath them. A lot of content creators who were once beloved are now not so much. Thanks to purposeful misinformation, greed, scandals and what have you. No my subs were not at a stand still, they were just slow to grow and continued to be... I have been working with advisors who look at all the data and let me know what is hurting growth. Many people leave the videos when the recap starts so the last 5 - 10 minutes of video are unviewed and when that happens KZbin sees it as an incomplete viewer experience... the percentage who stay to the end is small and that has been hurting - so I have to figure this all out and I will!

I was trying to make a point as to how silly this all sounds. You do a great job. KZbin should focus more on the smut and strut, animal cruelty and downright mean videos that are out and leave you be. There will be people who love your videos and useful information and there will be people who would rather watch paint dry. My guess is that you are not going to lose to many subscribers. If they like shopping for good vintage finds, then they should continue to watch. You know what to look for, what to pick up and what to leave behind. Keep doing what you do. You can’t please everyone so you’ve got to please yourself.

Dani, stop beating around the bush, your recap was over valued at best and you think you're going to scoop up more money forcing your people to pay for something that is "value" in your mind only. I enjoy your videos for the most part but those values are outrageous - and, I might add helping fuel Goodwill and other thrift stores to overvalue the merch they get for free. So you're hurting yourself as well as others and costing us all more money to thrift. How about showing some sold comps like the other youtubers who thrift. Prove the stuff you buy actually sells for those values you come up with, must be easy since all the others show screen shots of their sold listings. Guess you'll say I'm a hater, not alt all. Just honest and realistic.

This has nothing to do with the value of the recap - I am not doing this to make more money from memberships, I was simply coming up with a solution for still providing that format for those who love it. The values in my recap come from actual sold comps. My sales are all public - go check them out! I have wanted to do a sold video but I have not been able to carve out the extra 8 hours or so to make that happen as I'm already stretched to the limits keeping everything going.

If you go to her store and look at the "All Products" icon in her Collections folder, you will see a the end (scroll to last page) everything she sells and see what she was paid. You can do this weekly or whenever if you are curious.

@southernbell356 I have seen so many youtubers talking about how they are being forced to do things they aren't happy about, or risk losing their channel. It's all about youtube making as much money as they can, and they are changing things to do it. I saw one man asking viewers to not forget his channel or other channels with a lot of subscribers because apparently youtube isn't putting them in the suggestions on the main page as often, they are putting newer content creators with less followers because youtube doesn't have to pay as much to creators with less subscribers, therefore they get mIre money.

First let me say that I have enjoyed your shopping videos and have been watching you since the pandemic. However, I agree with others. If you are doing this strictly for monetary gain, very poor decision. You said it was a KZbin thing. I doubt that. You are changing with the wind. What is your niche these days? I can't tell. I can't help but think you were much better off when you sold on ebay and live on KZbin. You price things high on NSN and then have to put them on sale to sell them or take offers. Asking people to pay to see your recap and then expect them to pay again if they want to purchase is absurd.

How about I have to be able to make a living and when the analytics are telling me people are dropping off at the recap and it's hurting my channel I take the steps I'm being advised to take so I can continue to make videos and pay my bills. Did you know that each video takes about 8 hours to produce? This is my livlihood! I price things at market value - most often lower than most Ebay prices as I don't have the fees so I pass the savings on to my customers. I sell most things at full asking price - but as in ANY retail situation some things don't sell and you reduce the price. I could move those things to Ebay at a higher price or pass lower prices to my customers. The information in the recap will still be in the videos! Just not in a recap format. I don't expect anyone to pay, but for those who want that part I am still giving a way to provide it - I put out a minimum of 15 videos a month that makes it 13 cents per recap.

You didn't say anything at all that the recap info would still remain in your free videos just in a different format. That is why IMO you have this fallout. Also keep in mind KZbin takes a huge percentage of that membership money, creators don't get it all. It is a quandary of this life isn't it? I am not going to change the world as far as wanting to keep pets - but I can educate and help those pets have a better life. Yes I have aquariums that are huge and I spend a lot of time and money providing habitats as close to natural as I possibly can to give them a good enriched life! I rescue birds and tortoises - many come from deplorable situations so the life they now have albeit in a cage is one of being loved and cared for to the best of my abilities. To say there shouldn't be any such thing as a domesticated bird is an opinion you are certainly allowed to have... I think it's a symbiotic relationship that can bring joy to both.

Businesses often change things up….. Starbucks, McDonalds, Target etc. always drop/change menu items or coupon rules etc. do people stop shopping there/eating there? I hear what you're saying about people dropping off before the recap. That problem could be eliminated if you incorporated that information in the video as it's going, the same way you put in screen shots on the items you don't buy (and show what they're worth). You could still do the same text overlay of what you paid and what it sells for, but do it when you're picking up the item and talking about it and putting it in your cart. That way, all the info is still there and people will stay with you to the end.
